Yes, that would be helpful. Rule of thumb when immigrating - move where you could find a job or where the job takes you. No point in sticking to one place if unemployed for a long time.

Have you watched a popular serial called “Breaking bad” ? Watch it. You might get inspiration.

Another solution is to migrate to a province in USA where Marijuana is legal. Go there and grow it.

I am not sure about your gender but I have heard a lot about benefits that a Single mother gets. Try it if it is applicable. Else suck it up and shut up.

I am on close to minimum wage (Currently $13.25 per hour) since 1997 and have survived.

I find this post very fishy..... We all know that TK has certain views and standard advice which he doles out (eg. Free stuff/soup kitchens etc.)..... This post was very specific about the topic and who should respond.....

Give the guy a break..... I remember participating in the various posts which bashed him (gleefully ☺️;)..... But off late - there has been a change in the tone and language.....wich we must appreciate.....

If we are quick to censure.... We must be quick to accept....

Best Regards

We can only provide you with ideas and point in the right direction and whistle...

The Basic requirements are Roti Kapda Aur Makaan and here we only say a roof over our head and a loaf of bread on the table.

And to make use of all of the other frills you will need a vehicle and it does not fit into my purview of things. So stay within your budget and buy a BUS Pass.

Also it is nice to have wings, because the view from the TOP is very beautiful. And if you want to soar high like eagles, don't stay with a group of Turkeys.

FOR employers, the Live-in Caregiver Program is much more affordable than a daycare program—even middle-class families can benefit from it. A live-in nanny costs around $1600 to $1800 per month while daycare in ONT. can cost up to $2000.+ So, see if you can get into a post which will supplement the income, then, do so.

Use the available knowledge to improve your financial situation and when you do, you acquire a second career. It has been always in demand in Canada.

People have to be more innovative in a new country and its surroundings and take advantage of the situation to get by.

The next point is to make sure you cut down on your thrills and frills by cutting down on your recurring expenses, such as rent, utilities, food and travels, till you find a good job or get qualified for one and get an entry into it. You may have to refuse a few invitations or take a rein check as it might clash with your work schedule or the second job that you hold.

So, get a Basement Apartment or move farther into the boonies and see where they include all of the utilities and also Internet and phone etc., to get a break with your expenses. This is when you look for Food Banks and other free-bees.

FOOD BANKS IN AND AROUND .... (MISSISSAUGA) ????
https://www.google.ca/search?q=food+banks+in+and+around+mississauga%3F&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US src="images/openbb/smiley/redface.gif" border="0" alt=":o" />fficial&client=firefox-a&channel=np&source=hp&gfe_rd=cr&ei=nSAGVOeFOI-CmAKGooDACw

After a while it becomes a second nature and you automatically start to save and live frugally till you settle down. Also it takes time to get adjusted to a life style here in Canada. You will also get to know that there is DIGNITY in LABOUR and you become self sufficient.

Good Luck in you life and career and hope this little nudge in the right direction will get you moving towards your goal and a happy life.

Also return here and post and tell us.

FH.

Victor,
You still have not given me your family composition, your wage, where you work etc. So I will assume the following :

Victor
Mrs. Victor - Not working
Master victor - Age 3

Victor works in Tim Hortons earning $ 11 per hour and he is given 37.5 hours a week. So Victor will get $ 1730 gross and will get $ 1400 on hand a month. GST credit will be $ 100 a month and CCTB $ 100 a month. So he will earn $ 1600 a month.

Expenses :
1. Rent - $ 900 basement (all incl)
2. TTC pass for 2 people - $ 240 per month
3. Emergency expenses - $ 100 a month
4. Expenses like shoes cloth - $ 100 a month.
5. Cellphone / internet / TV - $ 120 a month
6. Emergency food -$ 200 a month

Total - $ 1660 a month.

You are right. At the minimum you will exceed your monthly expenses by $ 60 a month.

So what to do:
1. After sending Master victor to school, Mrs. Victor should visit all food banks in her area. One evey week and get groceries free of charge. So your food needs are taken care off.

2. Also after work, get a trolly and see if any good items are thrown out. Bring it home, clean it and either use it or advertise in Kijiji. All will come and pick up. You may get around $ 60 a month through this

3. See if your wife can do part time jobs like baby sitting, cooking for bachelors, packing masalas or working at an Indian store for cash. This can bring you additional $ 500 -$ 1000 a month, which you should put for rainy day.

4. Visit your MP or MLA and give him this statistics. Ask him why Canada need so many people like you. Be very gentle. Tell him that you want to help Canada but for that Canada need to help him.

5. Never leave your job because leaving your job will be a very bad decision as your cash situation is very tight.

6. Try to see if you can do 2 jobs at a time. First can be 8 hours and next can be 4 hours. You will get additional $ 600 - 800 a month. Do this if your wife canot work and earn you extra money.

7. You can go to your son's school and ask the principal what facility that school will provide free of charge for your son. Some schools give free breakfast (courtesy, the near by fast food outlet).

8. COncentrate on free entertainment for yourselves like park, library, shopping mall. Also areas like ROM etc have a free day slot (say like thursday free after 5:30 pm). Use that.

More once you give me some relavant information.

"Since 2002 till date....did you really face all this....?"

No man no............!!

He did this for a few years and then got fed up and left Canada. Perhaps to become an adviser to other immigrants with his funny anecdotes and interesting solutions!!

Chandresh

Not sure how Chandreshji came to this conclusion. BTW, we have never met in person and for sure he does not know me except reading my posts. It is actually an insult to me. Actually these are my tips for minimum wage earners to live in Canada comfortably and not that something that I did because I was not a minimum wage earner in Canada. I earnt around $ 18 an hour when I left Canada and when I left Canada in 2011, I had an offer in Vaughn for $ 20 an hour , an offer in Saudi and an offer in South India which I took.
