AG ~ Whereas what you say is true , there's an interim period / buffer on the trial date which can lead to better outcomes and your not needing to invoke the trial .

You get to have a meeting with the Prosecutor in which you should ask for the Cop's presence. If the Prosecutor says he is not here , then they would throw the case out.

Even if the cop is present , the Prosecutor will give you a final deal to save the Court's and the JoP's time in which for you to plead 'guilty' the Prosecutor would lower your fee / penalty point.

So you do have a final decision on the trial date where if you don't wish to , you don't go to the trial . ( Unless of course its a major offense like DUI or negligence causing death or something similar)

Rule is a rule and should be followed. For every traffic speed limit, there is a valid reason. Just imagine the situation on roads if the people don’t follow the traffic rules.

Thanks all of you for reply and suggestions,

after search through Google, I found not only me but so many peoples got speeding tickets at Pearson Airport (especially at Terminal 1)....

I was at airport to pick up my son (Who travelled alone to came back from India) and in rush I took wrong exist to go at Terminal 1 (departure) instead of Terminal 1 (Arrival)...

I was at 70km/hr. at 30 km/hr. zone (as per Officer but I highly doubted)... Honestly I did not see the sign.

ticket description shows below:

"traffic on the landside of airports regulations, section 5"

I did exercise from my side and send e-mail to couple of Ticket fighters.....

got below replied:

Traffic solutions:

What is the ticket contrary to? Does it say H.T.A sec. 128 under the Speeding wording on ticket?

If it does not and states by-law then yes this is correct- it will not affect you.

OTT legal:

If the act on your ticket is from the Greater Toronto Airport authority, you can just pay for it.

My understanding with MTO, is that only Provincial statute charges like the highway traffic act charges will go on any record.

I strongly advise calling the MTO, and double checking on this.

regards

just update:

Just received answer from my Insurance Broker and he informed that this is a regular offence and it will show up in my driving record. next renewal time when insurance company will pull up my profile than it might affect my insurance premium too.

right now I am very confused whom to believe, speeding ticket fighters agency says nothing will show in my record and Insurance broker says it will..

Police officer was lying to me when he gave the ticket.... :cuss:

Be cautious when at Airport and keep eye on speed limit..:(

all the best...

Never call your insurance company or your insurance broker, they will use any excuse to increase your premium, and put a note in your file. If you call them, call them anonymously without giving your real name and real info, and ask them you are just looking for a quote and will so and so condition/tkt affect you or not.

The brokers just work on commission, they know next to nothing about the law, they just give you a quote based on what the software or database tells them. They are clueless. The police officer and traffic fighters are right, it won't affect your insurance.

Thanks a million booradleysmart for reply,

My insurance broker is more business related friend and to make sure I contacted him but yes you are right should not be contacted insurance company or broker if you are not sure.

looks great news for me, two minutes ago just got below replied from MTO too.

Hello XXXXXX

Thank you for taking the time to contact the Ministry of Transportation's Customer & Traveller Information Management Office.

If you were not charged under the Highway Traffic Act this offence will not be recorded on your driver's licence record.

We thank you for your inquiry and encourage you to contact us in the future, as we continually strive to improve our service to our customers.

Sincerely,

XXXXXXX
Customer & Traveller Information Management Office

in my ticket it does not show anywhere about Highway Traffic Act but shows only "traffic on the landside of airports regulations, section 5"

Bingo for me...
