Reference check is the very first step and based on the reference feedback, the review process begins. refer to this link. In general, it may take 12 - 18 months depending on how well your documents are.

Link you posted is for practice and is not same as Professional Member...I cannot see 12-18 month review time in the APEGA website. My application coordinator informed me it will take 4-8 month.

Will appreciate response from those who applied in APEGA ,Please share the timeline....

---------

Usually takes 6 to 12 months to complete the evaluation of
an applicant’s qualifications.
Here are some reasons it may take longer:
 Transcripts not received from university or not available.
 Unresponsive references – choose with care.
 Incorrect or incomplete WER – check for clarity.
 Unusual educational background or specialty
 Dual registration requests.
 Post Graduate experience credit requests
 Each round trip to an examiner can be expected to add 2-4
weeks to the process
AND FOR YOU ADD SIX MORE MONTHS.

FH.

EDIT: DON'T SHOOT. I am only the piano player. See at the very bottom of the link.

Sir, I am a P.Eng from APEGA. I personally know a few cases where it took that long. Again, it is on a case to case basis and where you got the engineering degree. If 4~8 months make you feel better, then so be it. But be prepared and don't worry if takes long.
