Seems like a self goal by BJP or a deep ploy..Too complex to make any sense... :Sigh:

I am sorry, I don't think there was any hate in my post. I am just alarmed at this choice. A 4 time MLA from same seat and there is hardly any thing to show for his productivity except Ghar vapsi and love jihad kind of activities. By choosing such a polarising individual as CM of an important state IMO is a step backwards from development agenda of NaMo and Amit Shah. So unless there is a very complex political maneuver, the appointment seems illogical.
Anyways good luck to the new government.

Hiren, you don't need to feel sorry!
I personally didn't knew much about him. Exactly what you said - anything that is painted by Media - and that can be manipulative - was in my mind as well. We have experience the treatment of NaMo during the decade by the same Media.
I was listening to one of the discussion and an unknown panelist from UP, an author of a book, told the panel that He is one of the top-most active MPs in the parliament, not just under BJP government but also during the UPA. His average of presenting private member bill is double. His attendance is among the highest and double than many prominent faces. His contribution in the all sorts of discussion is among the top. And this entire focus in parliament is development and not the religion as we might have thought.
He is heading 100s of institutes (Education, Hospitals, Charity etc) and there is absolutely no discrimination based on religion and infact there are so many minority students in the institutes run by him.
Of-course we can treat his some statements as provocative, but again, media can always shows you half picture.
And before commenting on anyone - When Dr. Singh says - Minorities have first right over natural resources - what else can be as communal as that?

In a way it is a master stroke by BJP to fall media, congress, left-liberals and other parties into its trap. Remember the days of 2002 and forward? The entire gang listed above was after Mr. Modi. They didn't leave anything behind to defame Narendra Modi. And Narendrabhai went on keep doing the great development work of the state. So while the media was painting a different picture, he emerged as a completely different leader and a time came when people of India chose him as a PM.
This time, the media, and the gang, indeed fall in the trap. Their game has started. During all discussions the anchors will keep asking questions about "but what about his that statement?" and the congress and left-liberals - politicians and journalists - will keep doing the hatred towards a monk. Ultimately making Mr. Yogi as a great leader who is being targeted by diminishing community of pseudo-secular.
Some parties, like SP, BJD, JDU are smart enough to not fall in the trap. But the congress definitely is.

UP is a state with 20 crore population. Qualifies to be a separate country by itself. With perennial rivers flowing its entire length, fertile soil and bountiful harvest, people should have been prosperous, but for the vice like grip of the Nehru dynasty and its politics. The dynasty and their sycophants around, have utter dislike for Hinduism and hence for majority of the people of this state. This explains the poverty and poor economic development. If at last the people of the state have, and utilized an opportunity to elect a leader respecting their sentiments and would work for their aspirations, let us be kind to them.
If Captain Amarinder Singh can wear his turban or Mehbooba Mufti her purdah and rule their respective states, and we can accept the same, why a different yardstick for a yogi and his sanyasi saffron.

In a way, let them, the pseudos and the minority news media go after Yogi. They are 50% responsible for making Narendra Modi what and were he is. We too are concerned that someone should shoulder and carry on his good work, ten years from now. God willing Yogi would take Modi's place.

The level of corruption taking place in a large state like UP, and others can be highlighted by one action of Yogi. He canceled the extension of many officers.
There were around 100 high level officers given extensions just because they were close to the previous government. Think about average salary and perks, each of them must be getting 12 Lakhs a year. In addition the cost of support staff, vehicle, housing and what-not could be adding additional 12 Lakhs. Putting a total of 25 Lakhs times 100 itself is a burden of 2500 Lakhs, and that too per year, on the poor state government and its people!
No wonder why UP was leading a list of BIMARU state!
