I know him very well and he's a senior member.

You mean you KNOW him? As in he has been here for a year and you KNOW that he got all those calls and intervies and all those great job offers within the first 3 weeks?? You KNOW the companies that called him and you SEEN the offer letters etc? Do you really KNOW all that??
Another funny thing you know? He refers to "recruiters" as "manpower consultants"! Isn't that a little odd? Maybe I am wrong but that is the first time I have heard that term in the Canadian context. Even the recruiters themselves do not call themselves that. But then who knows? Maybe I am wrong.

I'm willing to wager $50000. You feel like raising the stakes? :D

Sorry, I can't take you up on that! The offer is so lucrative that I believe if someone wagered that amount on me, I could easily use less than half of that and come up with stunnigly convincing proofs!! :D
But my C$100 stands!

So its the LOSER WHINER BRIGADE Vs The SUCCESSFUL WHINER BRIGADE....

not so fast...you may want to revisit your definitions of various terms. Also you may be alone on the loser side...unless others want to admit they are losers.

Also, a perspective( borrowed) from my better half of the word 'success', and I paraphrase it
"Not what you acheive but the courage and strength to strive"

Lastly, you dont consider yourself a loser either..the way you try to hang in there, albeit dancing with the devil as you go :). I'm curious to see who will win out in the end... although you take pains to show that the outcome is already decided( inorder to win some brownie points for yourself).

Sorry, all this WHINING thing has been started by the SWBs.....when all it is is disagreeing on issues faced by immigrants.

Your idea of success is commendable though....

That's exactly the question I too had posed earlier. Just because someone disagrees to the claim that Canada is good for immigrants, does NOT make him a whiner. Given HIS experiences of the country, his complaints are completely legitimate! Only because it has turned out good for some, does not perforce imply that it is, or has to be, equally good for everyone else. Each indivdual has his own traits, personality, abilites whatever. Neither success nor failure is something that is achievable in equal measure by everyone. No one actually strives for failure. Everybody wants to succeed and makes efforts in the best possible way that he can. The number of factors that eventually affect the outcome are numerous and just as diverse. There are things that the individual can work on and just as many that are just not possible for him to control. Philosophical and sagely commendations do not change ground realities for the individual. People who have not been able to achieve should be just as free to express and communicate their idea without being labeled "whiners", as are the ones who have achieved any degree of success.

The only thing worth reading here are the words "I could be wrong". The other stuff's just grabbing at straws.

Anyways, I knew you'd come up with something to reject my wager AFTER asking me to wager :D. You sure did.

Interesting to know that others who were suddenly so SURE of the story being fake have suddenly stopped wagering. :D
