Did I ever NOT agree to the fact that being positive is essential? I shall be grateful if you can point to a single post of mine, OR anyone else's for that matter, that claims positive attitude as not essential.
Look, what I am trying to do is to treat people who are ALREADY here as different from those who are STILL in their home country. And especially those of the latter that have reasonably good jobs back home. Based on the experiences of those who have come here, the two categories need to be dealt with in different manners. Those who have already taken the leap, need to be encouraged to survive, need to be given advice and suggestions on how to achieve the best possible. Fine, but compared to them, those who have not taken the leap yet need to be advised differently. For the former, they have no choice. They are already here and need to establish themselves. They need the push, the encouragement, the inspiration that all is not lost. They need to be shown examples of success that can help them pull themselves out of the dump. They need to be helped with strategies and tips.
However those that are still back home with reasonably good jobs, those who have achieved reasonable success where they are but are attracted to the west and Canada as something like heaven need to be cautioned. I am not even using the word "discouraged". They need to be CAUTIONED that life in this country MAY not be as easy as they imagine. They need to be told that post landing things are LIKELY NOT to turn out hunky dory. They NEED to know what they should have in their portfolios that will help them and what will not. It is THEM I am concerned about. We should not project a picture for THEM that is not realistic. A Dosanjh, or a Lakshmi Mittal is not what everyone becomes. These guys are ordinary, average folks like most of us. Please treat them accordingly! Please do not show them dreams, and tell them that it is possible for you also to achieve the same measure of success because someone like GiG has been able to do it!! That is WRONG!!
Again, I am not saying that they be DISCOURAGED! That too is wrong, Any prompting based on personal experience is wrong! What is important is to ensure that realities do not get presented in a skewed manner.

I think the only one that can do this in a manner that is acceptable to DTC is DTC. So MI, BL, GG, Chandresh...please make DTC a mod so he can tailor the board according to his exact standards and call it a day. Am i wrong?
Since people like GIG are wrong in sharing their individual stories of what got them where they are...let us make this thread a bit more positive wherin Kap, jago-desi, DIC, Mercury, BS etc can lay down what their personal recipies, that can help struggling immigrants OR those who yearn to come here , are. It maybe a bit more difficult than trying to pull someone else down but I'm sure you guys can come up with something. Can you?

Manasavi...are moderators who support failure biased? Maybe the mods should not have an opinion at all? What crap! Even Chandresh has his own opinions and is in no way unbiased. Mods of any board I have visited have their own opinions.

I have said so many times. There is only one person who has multiple ids, why do you think gg/bL/crensshew/gig/mi are not same? It needs little efforts to trace.

DC,
after reading all that, I have just one comment: intelligence has limits, stupidity does not.....![]()

Either you don't see to understand, or more likely, you are deliberately trying not to.
There IS no single recipe for success! It is different for each person and has infinite number of variables.
. I do not think anybodyu is claiming to have the singular recipie for success. All they are talking about is what worked for them and what MAY hedge the bet in your favor.-----------------------------------------------------------------
