Hello!
It is shown that your location is Mississauga. If it is indeed so , you canot then go for your Visa to Ottawa , even though wait times are less there. Your jurisdiction is Toronto.
People say that for faster timelines in Toronto, you should see your copmuter at 7:00 am each morning. That is when all cancellations are updated and you can get a faster or a not so far appointment.

VP,
The US embassy is in downtown at a busy place (Sussex drive). Stay outside downtown and then take a bus that goes near the embassy (lot of buses go near that building). Bus service in Ottawa is great.

I believe u need to get an appt first.

Why bother for motel..?
This is what i did in 2004 took Greyhound Bus from Toronto the last one I guess at 12 in the night ,it reaches ottawa early morning around 6 or 6.30,inbetween stops at Tim Hortans around midnight.Terminal has all basic amenities from Coffe shop to Clean Rest rooms. Take a cab from the Bus terminal right at the gate charges less then 10 $ to US consulate .Take a early morning appointment 8-9 .Passport is ready for pick up same day between 1-2 .Take the 4pm bus u r back in toronto same night.Good place to see from 9-1 while waiting for passport.
Hope this helps.

Hi!
What happens if you get stuck in a snow storm or an accident? Once you miss an US consulate interview, it takes ages to get another appointment.
Better to go beforehand and check into a hotel or atleast sleep in the busstand.
