It is good to be in contact with Trichy people. When we grew up, we were not allowed to roam around / loitter around very much. So though i know all the places that you are talking about , i did not visit these places often. I was only allowed to visit Mookumbu with parents. Who can forget Michael's cheap ice cream at main guard gate? and the theppakulam and rock fort?
Though many icons (incl. our president) studied in Trichy @ st. joseph's college, there is no networking among trichy people.

Sidenote : Were you in Trichy when Bus no. 9 ran beserk, killing 9-12 people in 1984/85?
Sidenote 2 : Once you come to Canada (preferably GTA) we will have a Trichy reunion. Me, you,JRF and possibly Sankaracharya (i think he also studied at st joe's- pls. confirm S). - TK

I was there in Trichy when the Driver killed that many folks, I loosely remember, his name was Nagaraj. It happened in 1983 when I was in 6th Standard st. Josephs's school.. got half day leave...Huh...

I did my schooling in St. Joseph's Main Guard Gate (6th to +2) and college in Jamal (B.Sc.. 93, M.C.A 96...).
My favorite places in Trichy are,
Golden Rock housing area (More natural place....like Half Ooty I should say with lots of green around).
Rockfort, Bustling Big Bazaar Street, Mukkombu, Kallanai, Amma Mandapam (Adi 18 esp..,), BHEL township is nice.. then Kallanai..

I've seen US, Canada, Far East, Middle East, Some places in Europe. To me there is no place like Trichy... Trichy I love you much!!!!

Looking to form a Trichy Group soon...

You are my younger brother's batch. Where did you take tutions? I took it at Selvaraj (Maths), Chandrasekaran-CP (Physics) and Lakshmanan (Chem.). My brother took it there too. Do you know Tamilazhagan (1 year senior to you at school and he did Comp. Sci. at REC, Trichy)
Did you know that Bus. no. 9 started the rampage from our school (Collector office to be more specific). Someone threw stones at the bus, broke the front glass and dazed the driver. That was the story.
Who also can forget the Seeval Ice, Jill Jill Jigarthanda at Ghandhi market....
