As per you guys knowledge, WHICH CAR IS BEST ON GAS? Small car, 2 door etc are ok. it should be best on gas.

Also give me your feedback about Lancer.

In case of used cars check out Toyota Echo 2000 and Mazda Protege 2000 . Lancer also fits the bill as a good dependable vehicle .

The Volkswagon Diesel looks good. And Tata 'Nano's you can buy five and get five free. ( Then keep the change) Or buy one and get Nine Free!!!

In my opinion, no-gas is the best option. However, North America has to go a long way to have an excellent public transport. I can only wish.

However, back to the topic. With the rising prices, I see not a single car can guarantee a great gas mileage. Only except Smart Car. However, I have to be really rich or have only 2 family members (including myself) to own Smart Car, as it's really small to accomodate more than 2 people. One has to think twice before going to the grocery or picking up a relative/friend from Airport with few baggage. Also, the price tag comes heavy upon you. I read it somewhere that it costs about 16K to buy Smart Car. Isn't it a too hugh a price to pay to go 'Green'?

So, my options? I would go for the tried and tested - Honda Civic, Toyota Yaris, or Corolla. Don't ever think of diverting to any other brand if you're really serious about saving few bux on gas.

Hope it helps!

Compact/Small size - Toyota Yaris, Nissan Versa, Chevy Aveo, Honda Civic, Pontiac Wave, Corolla (rated appr at around 6.8 to 7.4L/100)

Little bigger - Saturn Aura and Chevy Malibu is rated at 7.5L/100

If you would like to minimize the use of gas or avoid it altogether, go for the MDI Air-Car. They have a version that runs only on air and a version that uses a mixture of air and gas. It looks like a smart car so you can't haul more than one passenger at a time. Also, it is meant for city driving.
