Didn't i say EI Insurance ??? TK has paid EI premium - so he is eligible to take EI

When u pay for your car insurance and u hv accident ? dont u ask them for full cost ? no just how much u hv contributed ? or else your contribution dosent even cover cost of reparing bumper :) :) :)

common guys go after other useless ppls who take advantage of system ..those guys who is on welfare , refugees , work undertable...

EI is our right and i dont see any problem TK is asking for maximum benefits

TK has contributed for 7 years , he has another 20-25 years of gainfully employment left in him.. so i think things should even out eventually..

EI is a very fair system as an insurance against job loss.. Lets not complain about ppl taking advantage.. Most of the time 99% of the claim cases are people who have been taken advantage of and hence need EI..

Tk is at least using this opportunity to do training so he can get good job and don’t have to stay on govt help, In a way he is also helping govt.

What r u gonna say to those refuges and welfare ppls ?

By the way TK is not using someone else money, he is getting back what he has paid for as insurance

It takes 13.5 years approximately of contributing to the EI system to cover the approximate cost of one's training and living support benefits.

Just fyi..

I agree. EI, Income Assistance, WCB, CPP and all other social programs in Canada, including Refugee Claimant programs were all developed to help people. Every system has fraud and people who want to take advantage. Then there are people who loathe to use these systems. etc etc.

Because I work/have worked within some of these systems I have seen many different situations. I appreciate that these systems exist to help us in case anyone ever needs them.

Well in this case TK had paid Insurance Premium and he is entitled to the assistance he s getting ... but I have seen a lot of people on welfare , not working , not trying to work , doing nothing and smoking pot and accepting welfare as a right

........... Can you stop paying your taxes , knowing that they will be used to fund such non working people ?............ Well you don't have a choice because thats how social welfare works .

So you see , you really don't have a choice ........ Even in India , one knows that all the tax money is syphoned to politicians and bureaucrats and other Govt people , but can you / did you do anything about it ?

Originally posted by gktaurusWell, myself and my spouse work extended hours during week, work on weekends as required by the employers just to keep our jobs, carry lunch every day, take public transportation to avoid parking fees and end up paying more than 60k in income tax. We think many times and try to find some cheap deals to upgrade our skills as we have to pay from our pockets for skill upgrading. Now I know how my tax is being used up. Here there are people who have terrible work ethics, abuse almost anything they come across, get fired due to this, and go to any extent to get all the benifits:- free lunch, free parking, free skill upgrading and even free weekend lunch if they wish.GOD BLESS CANADA.

Well. I also was in the same boat. I actually used to work for 7 days a week 12-14 hours a day for an annual salary of $15 an hour ( in 2009) with no overtime. Once when I retaliated against the boss treating me like a bunch of crap, I got fired.
No one likes to be in the situation that I am in. With no money to even go to India or eat some nice non. veg. food or to go to toronto during the weekend to enjoy. I am just living by on rice and curds.
The govt. hires a firm (paid when we get funding) to set our paper right. That firm changes your resume to get your course approved. The govt. never approves a weekend course. The institute teaches on Saturday / Sunday but lie in their application letter that they teach Monday to Friday. What can I do about it?
Again jealousy will be there at all levels. Following examples are :
1. People who are in India are jealous of familes migrating to Canada
2. People who pay health tax but who donot have the need to go to the hospital are jealous of people who get a heart triple by pass surgery Free
3. People on EI are jealous of people on welfare
4. people at work are jealous of people on Welfare..
5. People funder under ontario skills devlopment are jealous of people under second career (B'cos OSD cap is $28 K and SC cap is $ 28K for tution + unlimited living allowance / childcare/ gas charge / food allowance / parking / family benefits etc...)
6. Sc's are jealous of Bharamins (for their culture, Skin colour, Beauty of their females.).
7. Bharamins are jealous of SC's (b'cos of their quota).

and the list could go on....

Peace by TK

sorry to hear about your loss of job, don't get depressed it is not end of the world. A lession for you to be polite to everyone around you especially during your job period, you are just like you are in school. you can't throw tantrums.you should be professional thro and thro.

First and foremost, remember you are in foreign country and you are second class citizen. This is canada and candian have more rights as you have more rights in India if you are Indian.Secondly you are employed by your employers that means if you are working 8 hours for them, then they have every right to ask you to do any job. You should never say no. accept the job given and if it is not completed then you go and explain the work completed and ask for the extra time for the remaining work to be completed.

Remember if you immediate boss gives you responsibiltiies, he is also answerable to his superiors. One should have the tendency to switch on and off which means, once you step into office, you forget home and outside world and sincerely do your work. As lord Krishna says, do your karma sincerely and honestly and leave the rest to me and once you step into your home, you forget your office.

Now, first and foremost, you go and apologise to your superiors and put in an apologise letter and ask for one more chance to prove yourself in job and promise them such type of behaviour will never recur. secondly if they don't agree request them very very politely to give good references and try for another job. (be psotive you will get another job) and please behave yourself and don't throw tantrums in jobs. never repeat same mistake twice.
