It’s a shame that the Govt of India did not go for it. This is the respect the govt has for the father of the nation. I don’t know what are the issues behind the inaction of the Govt. Thank god Mallya stepped in and got things back where it belonged. I am wondering how did those things end up in USA?

For a change, this time the cong govt acted for the right reasons. The stance that Gandhiji's items should not be auctioned is the correct one. Making profit out of selling the stuff of some one who gave up everything in life is not right.
It is a good act from Mallya in any case. Just like Tippu's sword, he brought this too back to India.
