before reading my topic i should just say that happiness is the state of the mind, home is where your heart is but the question is where is your home, where do you get your peace of mind ?do you like your current surroundings, well not to complain but just to relate to the thousand and one queries about canadians returning back home to india,i am in the same boat
got my oci got my kids their pio loved the thought of reuniting with family and friends over a period of more than 5 years ,nostalgia,
got my kids education inthe best schools but am still waiting for people to hire me (a banker in one of the best canadian banks)
everything seemed hunky dory but few things i miss here are cleanliness, pollution free drive, malls where u can walk with strollers around
spending $1 over wada pav not bad but spending Rs.20 for something just should cost just Rs.6 when i had left india wow seems a lot on my hard earned earnings.
well as they say the grass is greener on the other side so you have to decide where exactly do u have to live and what are your preferences ,but mumbai is not the same it has changed and expenses have hit the roof ,if you have a decent job live up to it else not worth .
not to make anyone negative this is just my two cents on the current scenario in mumbai .all circumstances differ.

Congratulations Akkiluck!
aar ya paar..you have made your decision and lived up to it. You are one of the few CD's who have actually taken the leap.
You are right. It's up to each individual to decide what matters for them most and where their priorities lie.
As a first generation immigrant in Canada, the thing i most miss is being able to drop my children in Grandparents house and go out with wifey for a movie.
Good luck and best wishes for the new and Exciting phase of your life.
Seenappa.
first of all, congratulations for taking such bold steps, it takes more guts to return.secondly, till you get your kind of job, go to co-op banks and work for them. They recruit faster since they don't have exams to be cleared like nationalised and other reputed banks on national level.Start from there and see where it leads you. You can even try as finance person in big multinational companies. try in shipping industry, since they require somebody to manage their huge funds and knowing banking and RBI formalities.
hope this helps and all the best. I know in few days, we will hear good news of your getting job.

Ghar kee murgee daal barabar ..
Besides the grass bening greener on the other side , we tend to dis regard the fresh ness of the grass we are on ...
For eg Indian people , traditions , festivals etc are things we miss abroad ... But when in India we some times dis regard the value of that ... same here .... when here we some times neglect the value of clean atmosphere , civil behaviour etc ....... its but human nature but one should take all factors and go for things which have more weightage .......
And you have your options open -- if after some years you wish to relocate , you have a legal status here .... dono haathon mein laddooo
