It was 5 on the scale, per radio stns in Ottawa. I was taking a walk in the park after lunch when I felt. By the time I came back our office bldg was emptied. With traffic jams etc it took 2 hrs to reach home

I feel every time my boss calls me to his office, more so if that day happens to be Friday.

Meghal,

Although we did not feel anything here but surely reminded me of our escape in 2000 at Bhuj. I was at Anjar and thanks to Sayaji Nagari train, which was delayed by 45 minutes and I was in transit from Gandhidham to Bhuj and not in any of the collapsed building.

96 seconds of horror and debris, dead bodies, cries and PANIC everywhere. I still remember the STD PCO guy, whom I spoke to last dying right in front me under the debris. I met him just few seconds before in his shop and thanks to the telecom department that my wife's phone was continuously busy (though her phone was fine).

When I reached Bhuj (Got down near the old hospital from the taxi), it was more horrifying and scary for me as I did not know about the fate of all my relatives. Half of my family is in BHUJ including my wife and her family. The most traumatic part was the SEARCH for all of them. When we found every one in safe shape, we were relieved.

Anyways, I would just pray to god (the all mighty with different names as Ishwar, Allah, Gesus, Vahe guru...) not to bring it any more. We all are living happily with the feel that we are healthy and safe.

Regards,

VJ.
