Hi Folks,
If I buy brand new laptop from futureshop - toshiba Satellite A70 costing almost $2,000 is it good to go for extended warranty or is it okay if i don't go. I got 24 months installment plan too.
Extended warranty cost somewhere around $380 for 3 years and $50 less for 2 years
What do you all think? And I thank you in advance for your time.
What is the standard warranty from the manufacturer on this machine?
If it is 1 year, don't bother with the extended warranty.
Most laptops or desktop computers' configuration is outdated by 2 years or so.
If you take 3 years extended warranty, then basically you are covering your laptop for 4 years @ $380.
That is almost 20% of the total cost of the laptop.
Will your laptop still be usable and up-to-date after 4 years?
I don't think it is worth it.

One friend bought a used laptop with a few months warranty at the Computer show at International Center, mississauga for $175.
266 MHZ, 128 RAM, lots of disk space, usb ports.
Something I am looking for. Next time i will go and get one.

Where is that place. It is organised on specific time or an ongoing show? I would like to purchase one too for that price. I dont care for warranty.
