Issue 4: Medical facility:

UK have medical facility free even for tourist person.

So far as my knowledge goes (having lived in UK for 3 years) visitors to UK are not entitled to free medical facilities aka National Health Service (NHS). What you may be referring to is that some EU citizens while visiting UK may use NHS subject to some conditions, etc.

Dear DIO and Bluelobster,

Thank you for your replies. I have struggled along with my husband when he was(and to an extent IS) expressing feelings similar to the posters here. My job has necessetated (sp)having to examine this issue in order to have Hope. I think hope is necessary.

All governments have their strong and weak points and i have worked in the government for over 5 years, have also been involved in forums, workshops, panel groups and having some conversations with people involved in the political field, and I can sympathize with 'desis'. There should be more information given overseas about what to expect in terms of employment anywhere in Canada. From what I understand, there is a pilot project or something however these things often take a while. I dont know if professionals/technical people also have time/want to research before migrating. That would be a good poll question?

Keep up the good work though..its nice to see that you care enough to assist/give information to others and help them get a truer picture.

Thank you

Last question (hopefully):
Someone told me that it is very difficult to move in and out of canada if you are a permanent resident and you need something like a reentry permit.
Is that true?

I was planning to move my family to canada and do a back-and-forth (probably a month back and a month forth) till things settle down. Sell my house, get one in canada, find a job etc. Can you see any problems with this.

Depends on what you mean by "very difficult".
You need the PR card to re-enter Canada.
It takes about 3 - 4 weeks after landing to get the PR Card.

In the absence of PR Card, you need to apply for a temporary permit at a consulate abroad - details on the CIC website.

Not really - lot of people do that.
If you don't have your PR Card, you can always drive - you don't need PR Card for that.
If you travel by air or rail, you will need the PR Card (or the temporary permit).

Most important, it is easier to bring family into canda than it is in US. I am an only child and my parents are old. IF i try to do this in US, it would take 10+ years

you could face a similiar situation in Canada too, regarding your parents.

Have a look at this....

Maybe the Canadian govt has realized that this liberal practice of allowing old age parents in is a burden on the health system.

Yes,
and perhaps they have also realised that it is better to take the fruit of these old age parents for the millions of 8-10$ jobs available in the economy.

That "fruit" is here by choice.. canada did not load them up into a ship and bring them here..so.. I am note sure your argument holds any water.
