Dear happy Sydney sider
Yes you will be successful anywhere if you are in business( Does not matter which country you living in). Yes if you looking for job ,You get much better life for you and your kids here in Canada than down under. I know successful Indians there who own business in down under. I recommend everybody where ever you are start a business(or self-employed) otherwise by end of your retirement you will be broke. I am in the same situation ( job)
I don’t know which countries you have lived, But I have lived in US/Australia( I hold Australian passport) and now in Canada and comparing all three I love Canada.
Fellow desis , I was very happy in Sydney and I was settled there, but my good friend suggested Australia and Canada are not the same apple ( there also gora , here also gora , there also you have house and car, here also you have the same) and I should move to Canada.. Now I am thankful to him. He has opened my eyes. What you should be looking for more of community , more off our children interacting with other desis etc. Good schools( not racist schools like in Sydney). So these two apples are different., One is better quality apple and other is bad and rotten apple
kind regards
Jay
Thanks Jayram for sharing your experience.
Way to Go .

dear jay and fido
If you live in a suburb where factory workers live (like any suburb in new delhi) and if you send your child to the local school (which by the way are free in sydney) your child will be friends with childern of losers (there are crapy people everywhere).
Or you will do what people do in New Delhi - send your children to Private Schools !!
There are over 80 private schools in sydney - they cost money and cost the same of owning an investment property.
Number two - work for yourself or for others - mate - i made others rich for 7 years and understood 11 years back that it is wasting time - so guy's - even if you have to own a kiosk selling icecreams which will make more money than your engineering job - so if you have wasted 4 years in your engineering degree - it is not easy to forget ...
take note, get out and do something ...

This is interesting topic.. but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be many people.. I am thinking abt exploring this option myself..
HSG man.. not everyone wants to open up his/her own business.. and not everyone succeeds.. How is the job scene in IT?

Yeah to each his own I agree , but entrepreneurship should be in a matching category .... what would one say if a Computer Engineer would open a kiosk or drive a cab(as the above post suggested) - I feel he is wasting his degree and education - if he wishes to be an entrepreneur try and start a Consultancy ..... achievement need not be in employed jobs only.
