While we are on this subject..... what ARE the scientific reasons? I don't see how science is getting involved in kitchen vs. nature...?

i'd like to ask the same question what are the scientific reasons.....as Madamme X said in her thread. I've searched the web regd this issue and haven't found nething "scientific" to it. As MR said its solely a belief.
There are certain things which arise due to a practice...for example its normally not considered good to file/cut nails after sunset. it originated from the practicality that earlier people had "chullahs" in villages and the food preparations were on the padded floor. So it was an effort to maintain "cleanliness". with lack of power supplies etc etc to see tiny particles spoiling the kitchen area was't possible.....it has turned into a belief/practice for some to avoid filing nails after sunset even today.....there's nothing scientific about it.
Similarly, its an age old practice to avoid entering temples and kitchen when u're having a cycle. during a cycle a girl wasn't allowed to enter a kitchen or temple to avoid "uncleanliness" as few believed and lack of protection in some manner. There's growth in terms of medical sciences from what it was earlier...through a span of decades, and those who are aware and can afford are well off that belief now.....yet some stick to the belief juz to follow the family trend and be with it... i guess everyone's right with their own perception.....but yet there isn't anything scientific bout it!

I have a question
no offense meant to anyone but im curious.
Hindu's worship goddesses and revere them - they are creators of life.
Were they not also going through the 'monthly cycle' ?
So why are women considered 'unclean' at this time?
It has been suggested this belief is a way to control women.
again..no offense meant.
