I was wondering what Indians think about Bali, especially about the brand of Hinduism practised there. It is apparently an offshoot of Hinduism, or a hybrid. It must be a strange experience to visit there for a Desi, to see a 'parallel' version of one's culture and religion. If I'm not mistaken, it's quite different from Indian Hinduism.

I was wondering if anyone on this forum, esp. Chandresh, has visited there and what their impressions were.

Do you consider the Balinese to be true Hindus?

Is the type of Hinduism that they practise radically different from that in India?

Is it superior/inferior in any way?
