Under the current rules, big companies - like Bell and Telus - aren't allowed to undercut their competitors by charging below cost for local phone service.

The changes would eliminate that provision, which the government insists would then lower your bill.

And it would also allow those same companies to immediately call you with rebate offers once you decide to switch to a competitor, something they can't do now.

This is Good if you are Informed Customers.

On the Other hand, Big Fish can Literally eat all these Small Ones by under charging. Eventually, it will bring Monopoly Back ...

So easy for Bell to Lure & Win Customers back.

You are right, in most cases bill will be same.

Who ever is major in the market will remian major by any mean.they will cut their price and give better offer to remain in market. because even if you want to go for Voip it required highspeed internet.

Now you are reling on cable internet, and they are going to suck.

Overall it will be same.

They are trying to create same playing field for the companies that are offering multiple services in bundle and offer heafty discounts.

Currently Bell and Telus could not do that. So they could not create bundle that includes their residential line.

Soon we will start getting phone calls from all phone companies and offer some good pricing - but with contracts.
