Hi,

This morning I got ticket becuase one of my kid wasn't fasten seat belt at that time. This was unusual checking, Police was checking everyone just before school and I didn't realize when my kid open the seat belt when we were passing police.

Police office gave me $110/- ticket. My question is,

- Is this tikcet impact on my monthly insurance
- If yes, for how long and approx. how much ?
- Is there any way to minimize impact on my insurance / points

Regards

- Is this ticket impact on my monthly insurance
i donno much but i think if it's your first ticket most insurance companies won't ding you for first ticket.

- If yes, for how long and approx. how much ?
if i'm not wrong you will have this ticket for 2 yrs in your record.

- Is there any way to minimize impact on my insurance / points
there are more knowledgeable/experienced CD's here who will be able to give you more info

That is a bad assumption.
There are very few insurance companies that will excuse even the first ticket.
I can't comment about this type of ticket but a regular driving violation (like running a light, speeding, ignoring STOP sign, etc.) are penalized by insurance companies without mercy.
Check with your insurer - they may be one of the forgiving ones.
All I am saying is that don't make this assumption, lest you receive a rude shock 6 months later.

Think about it. Insurance companies sometimes increase your premium because they get too many claims from around where you live or for some other vague reason. The former has happened to me personally when I was with TD (Primmum Insurance Co). So do you think they'll spare you when you yourself have committed an offence? I think not.

If they do not increase your premium, you could consider yourself lucky...I suppose.
