Hi group
Got a speeding ticket in Toronto for doing 70 on a 60 km/hr zone.
The ticket is for $40 and the officer said there are no demerit points.
This is the first speeding ticket since I came to Canada 5 yrs ago.
Do you guys think it will impact my insurance. Should I take it to the coury.
Thanks in advance for any help

My friend had similar situation, he gave it to traffic tickets specialists... they simply went in the court and pleaded guilty with explaination...
Which will now stay in his driving record.
About the insurance, it may or may not afffect your premium depending on the company's policy... But it will definitely show on your records if you plead guilty with explanation or simply pay off the ticket...

Dhandha bana rakha he....
It will affect the insurance it appears. I got a ticket in April for speeeding in a school zone above 15 km and was charged $85. Going to court helped me reduce the amount to $40/- but it is showing on my record( I pleaded guilty). I came to know about this when I called the insurance (state farm) agent about my acquiring 'G' licence last month. I thought I would get my insurance premium lowered with a 'G' but they told me that it might increase due to the ticket instead of a reduction.
Did you plead guilty as a prt of deal offered by crown/prosecutor? no matter what they will try to cut a deal for you to please guilty. Don;t do that. They will intimidate, scare you to plead guilty. There will 5-6 giant cops lurking around in the court house as if you committed a murder or something...
