Yeah, pretty good and concise.

I don't agree with #2, though - sometimes last minute fares can be a great deal too.

I have actually tried this on AirCanada.com - a few hrs. before the flight, sometimes the price drops dramatically.
And the price drop was available only on their own website i.e. I cross checked Travelocity and Expedia and the price drop wasn't there.

The other tip I have is to pick red-eye flights - those are sometimes the cheapest.

I completely agree with the endrosement of SouthWest airlines.
Air Tran is similar.
If you are flying to a US destination served by either SouthWest or AirTran, don't waste your time shopping around.

These tips are mostly for flying within the continent. Is there any more tips for International air tickets?

It mentions Sears Travel which looks awesome. As always for travel to India - Austrian Airlines , Air Canada & Aeroflot bring the best deals.

How would CDs rate the following in order of overall comfort and service for flying to India - should lesser stop overs be preferred ?

Continental
Air Canada
Swiss International Airlines
Lufthansa

I assume you are referring specifically to travel to India, and not general international travel to Europe or other vacation destinations (in which case most of those tips will still apply).

It's much more difficult to predict and get great deals on travel to India online.
Usually you can get better deals through travel agents.

However, there are times when a certain airline will have a great sale to/from a certain city in India for a short period of time only.
AirCanada.com sometimes posts great web-only sale fares for certain cities.

I remember that in summer of 05, they had a great sale for their direct flight from New Delhi to Toronto for $1,000 (before taxes and junk fees).

A few days ago, KLM had a web-only fare of $1,100 from Banglore to Toronto for Sep. travel.

To get these kinds of deals, you have to be flexible with your travel dates, times, number of stops, etc.
Also sign up for fare watches through Travelocity or Yahoo travel.
