What lifestyle ..you are cooking your own food, cleaning your own toilet, washing your own clothes, cleaning your own utensils, cleaning your own house, ..even ordinary middleclass people in India have domestic maids, servants, drivers etc to do these jobs for them
The taxes in Canada are just a way of legal corruption..you pay next to nothing in taxes in India compared to that ..so you pay a bribe here and there..the bribe and taxes BOTH combined in India are way less than the taxes you pay here.
In India you can visit any doctor or hospital whenever you want by paying a fee, here even if its free and you are a millionaire, you will wait months and years for a surgery, MRI, CT Scan etc.
In India the lifestyle is also very good if you want, its just a day different kind of lifestyle..so the one in Canada is not any better or worse..its just different.

On the same note Fido, I have reason to suspect that Adam is Ashdefc in reality.

Most of the immigrant move to these country to get rich and have better life - that is the fact
I admire people who are successful and rich by smart or hard work.
Laid back guys has been move back to their own country to enjoy life... people relocate to these country to get rich or easy access to money and facilities

Everyone wants to make money, but not everyone thinks money is everything.
Measuring being successful and rich from the amount of money we make is like mentioning volume in kilograms or weight in litres.
There ARE people who have realised this and moved back. They are the ones who are really street smart and successful. They are not necessarily laid back or lazy, but are more hard working and more successful.
Not knowing about them reminds me of "Frog in the well".

Happiness is highly subjective, you don't need a MENSA IQ to know this. So what's the point of getting into an argument on what should make other people happier? The good news is you have full freedom to choose whether to earn a lot of money or not, stay in Canada or stay in India, play sports, read a book, travel or stay at home and watch TV. Who exactly is stopping you from doing those things?
Instead of judging others and countering opinions (basically stoking your ego), it would much more productive to pursue what makes you happy.
And for once, leave a positive post from someone as just that, congratulate them if you think they've achieved something and and move on.

I agree with BL.
Every one has his own life and preferences as per his scriptures / way of being brought up.
We can show you the options (hard work / welfare / food banks / IT courses / house flipping etc..) and in the end you have to choose what is best for you.
We canot be the OP. Everyone has been created individually and we have our own choices.
So let us not chastise the OP but try to chart our own path.
Even when you see my posts, you can see that I am trying to give / chart a particular path of living for the non - IT / Non-Finance people. If you like that way, follow it. Otherwise follow what someone else says or what your heart says. But we should not insult the OP or chastise the decisions that he took as he did not ask for our opinions but only told his sucess story (sucess only for him).
