Let's live with it.

you like it here, even though you had to start with gas station.

I don't even after being successful to have my own career, I am not happy here...end of the story. Personal views...!

Like you, all Indians believe in hard work but the hard work counts only when it ends in success.

You got what you wanted or I did what I was trying for but if you look outside you will see 90% people who have the same qualification as you do or even greater actually but they are still stuck in vicious cycle of that job search & labor work, One of my friend gotten her teaching license same time as me but never got a job in public school, no problem with accent, She is from one of the European countries, scinece faculty.
This doesn't mean that you or I have some very special ability...NO..

People will definitely not go by others' experiences, as we have already discussed that if I go & scream in front of all Indians who are waiting for their visa to come to Canada that 'Canada is the worth place..' nobody is going to listen to me & once they are here & see this life & get frustrated & you come & scream here on this site 'Canada is the best place' noone is gonna listen to that either.

White people don't have problem working in factories as they are not qulified as we do, it is there life..they only care about coffee & muffin in the morning, burger & coke in the afternoon & pizza & beer at night..jeans & jacket to wear..they don't worry about their family or kids' future..as long as they get a little money to manage these things, they are happy. Again it is only whitepeople who are working in Mcs' or factories, the people who u mentioned in your quote...Coz I know lots of good white families too.

You don't blame me for not liking it, I don't blame u for liking it.
you live & I leave.

I think that's a great point! It really is about everyone's opinion which is formed from their experiences.

I certainly don't see 90% of the people in my profession struggling, so don't agree there. Have you ever driven through neighborhoods in Brampton or Mississauga? And tried to wonder if 90% of immigrants are struggling with bare basics, how so many desis can afford to buy such nice houses? Don't you think that's a total contradiction to a statement like 90% are struggling?

I don't deny the fact that there are a new immigrants who are struggling. But look at the ones here who've been here for a while. MOST of them are doing quite well. What does that tell you?

And you really do flush a supposedly balanaced viewpoint down the toilet with your statements below. If a white guy would make similar steatements about Indians who work in factories, would you not immediately call him a racist?

(I certainly don't see 90% of the people in my profession struggling, so don't agree there. )

Blue Lobster, it is again what I have seen & experienced in last 10 years. It might not be in your profession. I live in Scarborough & I can guarantee about 90% being frustrated.

This my quote was comment on Duncan's statement which says, 'white people don't have problem with labor jobs', on this quote of him I still think wht I've quoted above is the right answer & is not at all a racist statement. they aren't family orietanted people, there is nothing wrong in it as they have born & brought up in this culture.

Let them do that if it is encouraging some new immigrants, it is not a fight against canada lovers & canada haters . Everyone is free to give their opinion & NOBODY IS LOSER here. Every person here has passed thro' canadian immigration. Try to respect them as we ALL ARE INDIANS.

Rightly said, Indian Immigrant !

Just because somebody is trying to make ends meet & doesn't like the system here, doesn't mean that you ask them to go out of Canada.

People try to put up their thoughts here to put up their perspective of things. If out of this, something good materialises (like Puru is trying to do) then it naturally helps everybody.

Thanks & regards.

Rajan.

Ind. Immigrant,

Scarborough is hardly a indicator for the whole of Canada. If for instance you take the crime in Scarborough and extrapolate that to derive the crime rate for Canada, we're living in the most violent country on the planet. Which is hardly the case.

I don't mean to belittle people's struggles and yeah, there is a problem. But your perceptions of (or mine for that matter) don't necessarily portray the truth.

If I use your logic for deriving the struggling percentile, then I would say only about 5% are struggling. Where I live, most of the desis are quite well to do, mostly middle class. Will you agree then that 5% is an accurate number of people struggling?
