They come here, find work and go back to their home countries to apply for LMO (HRSDC Certificate that this skill is rare in Canada)..and they dont need work permit to apply in their home countries either. They just arrive at Port of entry with LMO and work permits are issued to them.
For most of IT jobs, one dont require LMO, they can simply arrives here with job letter and work permits are issued.

There is one BUNAC cateogry of visa, please search it and you will find details.

So its not TCS/Satyam guys only whom u consider a hurdle...

Isn't the same applicable to Canadian citizens as well? They just arrive at US Port of entry with an employment letter and TN work permits are issued to them for 3 years.

Though US immigration has strict regulations for H1/L1 visa's, they're easy on TN work permits.

Hi ljlijash,

There is no need to spend Rs 1.5 lakhs on any agency. The majority apply on their own as there is enough information on the internet.

Welcome to Canada (in the near future).
Let me try to answer your queries :
Canada and the people in it are desparate for your money. SO over the internet you can book a room or house for your family to stay , pick up from the airport etc.. You host will himself help you tto apply for SIN, Health card etc...
Airport pick up is $ 40-$50
Room with common toilet - $ 38-$60 a day
MOnthly rented house - Around $ 1600- $ 2400 a month (this is what you can book from India and use here upon arrival. You can stay for a month here and then move on).
You can cook your own food here,.
When you can do this through the internet, do you want to give lakhs to the immigration agent?
When you get visa's, you can come alone first and then later when you settle down , then you can bring your family. However, they must land in Canada before 1 year from the date that they took their medical. Canadian Govt. (to get your max. money in Canada) in most cases will give your visa just 2 or 3 weeks before the expiry of your medicals. So this will necessiate that you come with your family (unless you apply to sponser them again which entails fees and around 3-6 months of time for processing).
when we say that IT is the only profession that can get you a job here, it does not mean that people from IBM will be waiting for you the airport. Even in IT you will have to struggle to get a job, only that the struggle will be less.
There are immediate oppertunities for people who have solid experience in SAP, .NET, c #, DBA, Informatica, Cognos etc.. You need good soft skills and a good vacabulory (your posts indicate otherwise). Depending on your skill, you may get a job in 3-13 months.
Nothing is certain in Canada (except taxes and the weather).
So welcome to Canada. One more person/family to pay for the healthcare of our seniors, Canada's social nest, taxs, highly paid (local born) civil servants, unionised employees etc..

We look forward to having you in this country at the earliest and for the longest possible stay here
Peace by TK

Yes exactly. So my point was, if you want to dislike WP holder pls know them thoroughly. TCS/Satyam people are just a fraction of them..there are whole lot of Europeans and Americans who are WP holder in Canada in IT field. Their country of origin and relaxation in visa process makes more trouble for desi PR to get hold of those jobs.

And yes Open work permit do exist. For it the only qualification you require is, spouse or common law partner of work permit holder. Same as dependent of HSMP holder in UK and exactly opposite to H4 of H1B visa in USA. In both previous case you are not allowed to study but in later you can only study.

and for open work permit holder things are not different from job perspective. Employers looks at your skills, experience and authorization to work in Canada (PR or OWP doesnt matter for them). So struggle is same in job market.

I still dont get it, how can it be in 8 months...skilled category, right ? thats not the time line for that ...??

And yes, finance market is really bad....its been 2 months and no luck yet ...for a canadian education and canadian experience holder....:(

don't mind our wonderful TK language. TK warns of hardship sarcastically whereas I warn you not to come with ghandari patti (blindly) and be prepared for hardship (almost just like 14 years vanvas to Shri Ram). Only difference is you won't suffer for 14 years if you are lucky. You will have to struggle 4-5 years to settle down. The only similarity is ShriRam went to forest where there is lots of peace and greenery and serenity and he had only Ravan as his enemy and you also will have lots of greenery and serenity etc in canada and your enemy here in canada is perhaps single mothers, teenage pregnancy, gangsters targetting school children from age 8-10, drugs, smoking, drinking, gays, lesbians. When your children grow up, they will get married and stay separately and once in a year, they will come with Turkey and say Thank you for being their parents.

Don't be afraid, it is all part and parcel of life.
