Nobody can decide what to do with your life except you, as you are the best judge of your own self. Seems like you have already made a decision but just want somebody to back it up to make you feel good.

But by settling financially, if you mean making lots of money, than do not come to Canada. You can always go to US or some other country, earn in dollars, while keeping your eye on that magic 40-50 multiplier, and then come back to Indian and settle down.

Countries like Canada has a very high standard of living, taxes that keep on going up and most of time, job that is dependent on economy.

what answer you do want ? People have already answered !

Do some homework.. there was no Canadiandesi those days ! If it was.. I think quite a number of people would'nt be posting on this forum... they would have stayed put in India or ....

If you are earning 23K and expect to earn / save in Canada with just a single income (legally) .... you better be good in what you do and brings tons of Luck. But you are young and with time and exp.. you should do well. Get some additional qualification in India itself and try countries in Gulf.

On the other hand, for the money you currently earn in India... Canada should not be bad for you. But that is just to survive.. if you want buy a house, save / spend reasonably well at the same time, then be prepared to do some hard work.. could be labour work also ! Work in jobs which would be unrelated to your education / exp

Most of the people work for their house (mortgage) and then ask their wife to work as well. Then what happens to the kids ? Thats another debate !

Do a search on this forum... If you want to go to Canada just for the sake of money.... You better stay put or go on work visa..

There is no free money anywhere...

Good luck

So what is it finally ? I have a job here giving me 23,000 INR , but my savings are 0. Maybe if switch company i mite get around 35,000 INR but to do that I need to move into Banglore or Chennai , which would offset most of the 12,000 Rs hike that i would have got .

My intention to move to Canada is obviously to get settled financially . I know it will take 3 years min but I am ready to go the hard way for that .

1.A contributor on this website is currently in Thiruvananthapuram. He has a similar profile like you but has moved his family back there after obtaining citizenship. He is currently employed in Canada but having a look at jobs there back home.

Moral of the story: Grass is Greener on the other side.

2.I want to be practical and this opinion of mine is based on realtime experience.

You will be at ease in Canada.

Canada in particular Ontario will be muslim majority location by another 15 years. If you are practising muslim there are plenty of mosques here and you could go for Friday prayers.

There are also a few companies who will give you place and time during office hours to do your Namaz 5 times a day.

Some Pakistani owned businesses have a built mosque/prayer rooms next to their conference rooms in their business premises.

But count USA out of the equation for sometime now.

There is a witch hunt going on for anybody name Khan or Mohammad or any other Islamic surname.

After the spate of attacks recently every Muslim is a suspect.

Many of them want to relocate to Canada as they feel safer here.

I have muslim friends in very good jobs in USA and they all feel insecure and want to get out.

You will be asked many a questions at the border. If your passport shows stamps of Pakistan or even somewhere in UAE you will be still questioned.

If anybody has a Pakistani passport they are gone. Further more if they have travelled to Afghanistan then gone case.

My 2 naya paisa on the reality on ground.

You make the call.

I disagree with you Vande. this is not true. I am living in USA for 5 years. The muslims are having a good time. They have big businesses. Have good positions. We have a muslim manager in charge of Goras. He has no intention of going to Canada.

Your information is based from newspaper articles and not on reality. The only muslims who have to fear are those who are not patriotic to the country they are living in.

No my dear friend, absolutely not ..... Event though we are patriotic and true to ourselves, I guess the west is too biased on this topic...in saying that ,its not all of them who fall in this category !! But its the hard fact and we have to live with that .

Even in India , the situation is no different.Thankfully in kerala ,where I live, the degree is much much lesser and that's exactly why I am concerned !

I mite be wrong here, but this is what I hear from 99% of contacts that I have in the west . But please let's not turn this tread into a religious debate, as that is the least most important factor for me in migrating there. I had asked ,just to know the overall perception and not each and every individuals ideology...
