I agree with your last sentence pankaj. I did my Masters in Materials engineering from Canada and tried very hard to get a job in Canada but no luck. The problem is each time i got an interview they asked me if I am a Canadian citizen or not. You don't believe me but once in the interview I was asked if I were born in Canada. Canada is a nice place to live but the mentality of the people sucks. Finally i got a job in US in a company where they care about my skills only .. not where i was born or if i m a citizen type of questions. Try for US .... Canadian companies are ignorant and kind of racist also thats why they are getting bankrupt everyday because they are run by bunch of white people's and most of them are less skilled engineers than we are.

guys i have always read posts comparing US to Canada. Everyone knows that US is a far bigger economy than Canada and the market is huge 280 million people, lots of universities, lots of companies, lots of jobs. If anybody gets a job or opportunity to go to US, that is first preference. But to come to US is not easy, you will get stuck in the visas and long queue of green card. Canada is the second best option and they give PR to anybody skilled in any profession, even without a job but for US, u need a job before u can get a visa. US used to give Green card in India itself in 1970's.
So when you get Canada PR without a job, you are bound to struggle initially until you gain relevent experience and get a desired job. Most of people struggle for 3 yrs and try to get their Citizenship. Once they get that they can take up a job in US anytime using T1 visa, they are mukt from H1b, l1b and other visas.
Nevertheless, if you eventually want to settle in Canada, they try to compare Canada wil Europe, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Far East and you will find that it is far above all these countries.

I agree because of its proximity to US.
If Canada was an island like australia in middle of nowhere than we would have seen how many immigrants would have elected to come to Canada and stay here without getting proper jobs and surviving frugally.
