Hi,

Lets not deviate from the discussion. Let us hear few more good things about Canada. Its a welcome break after all discussions about negatives in Canada.

Actually I invite you. And try to make it before 4.15-4.30. Thats when I leave work to avoid traffic on the way to the burb.

Something I've taken for granted.

Traffic stops on both sides of the road when a schools bus stops and puts out the stop sign.
This morning on my way back from the gym I was behind a school bus which stopped and put out its stop sign to enable kids to get on. Along with my side the traffic on the other side of the busy road also came to a stop seemingly for no reason. All of a sudden a teenager from an apt block ran across the roads to catch his bus.

My son could be that teenager in a few years and I am happy that people generally obey the law even if it does seem unnecessary at times.

I would like to add work ethics.- The best thing about my 8 years stay in Canada was my job. I loved working here. words like 'thank you', 'sorry' are used appropriately & generously. Everyone does their part of work to run the day to day operation smoothly. The place that I was working had lots of christian background & there were only 3 brown people working there. Christmas was the most beautiful time every year.

But again it depends a lot where & with whom you work. You will always see a great set of rules, perks & a nice office, organisation but a 'kaamchor' person, so it is really very very personal experience. many of them who work here definitely will not have the same experience as we all do , their experience might be better back in India.

We need to respect each other's views, that is what we need to learn, If we have learnt this land's rules & ethics, it shouldn't be a hard thing to do.

True. Both realities can co-exist. Just as they do in India. Where there are a large # of people living with less than 1000rs a month...and others making money in lacs/month. One persons experience does not negate anothers.

Returning back to the topic(as diamond directed in the OP)...This thread really made me think about all the things I have to be thankful for. Hope we can keep going on in the same vein.
