Any ideas as when will the final decision be made?
And does my mom has to go to india, as she has been with me in canada for almost 3-4 years with frequent trips in between?
Thanks for the responses and good luck to all of you.
Hello Everyone,
I had submitted application sponsoring my parents in late 2009
In March i received a letter requesting to provide additional documentation (Photos, application for PR form, additional family information forms, marriage certificate of parents, proof of relationship with my parents, pcc if possible etc)
Before i submitted the documents the online status under "Sponsorship Application Status"
showed "We received your application to sponsor <dad's name> on October 30, 2009. Depandants listed will be added once processing has begin"
2 Weeks after submitting the document there are now two sections on the online status one is for "Sponsorship Application Status" is now
"We received your application to sponsor <dad's name> on October 30, 2009"
Also there is a new column under "Permanent Residence Application Status"
"We received <dad's name> application for permanent residence on October 30, 2009"
I have two questions if someone can help me
1) Why is my mother not showing on the online status?
2) What do i expect next?

1) it is the same for everyone, no worries.
2) if something missing in the docs you sent they will sent it back to you and ask you to resubmit in 30 days. If all good then your file will be transferred for further processing. So just wait and watch, it could take upto 2-4 months.
Hello Everyone,
1) The CIC site today shows as decision made under "Sponsorship application status" indicating that they will send me a letter indicating the decision.
2) Under "Permanant Residence Application Status" it indicates "Application Received.
3) When i opened my mail (not email) i saw a letter from cic. It was not about the result of my Sponsorship application but it had a document from the original application i had submitted in 2009 to sponsor my parents where i had forgotten to sign. They wanted me to sign it and send it back which i did today.
My Questions
1) Does this mean that the sponsorship application has been approved?
2) Also does this mean that they have started processing the PR application for my parents? Also are they processing this in Canada or may send it to India after verifying the correctness of the application?

Hi All,
As most of you, last week I have received a letter asking me to submit a couple of forms for parents' sponsorship application. My parents don't have the marriage certificate, Would it be fine to get an affidavit for the same. ? If yes, does anyone have the required format/words that should go in that affidavit ?
(They inquired about getting a marriage certificate but were told that the marriage has to be registered in the same municipality where they got married and not the same place they currently live, which may take more time to get all the required docs in place)
Thanks
