I am sure I am not alone whose parent doesn't have birth certificate and I am sure many file already accpted by CIC without parent's birth certificate. I am not happy with answer from CIC call center.

I am planning to send application back to CIC with explanation. What do you think guys? Any alternative?

I am in the same boat, My parents also don't have birth certificates.
I received the same letter dated on Nov 25th, Since I was out of country until mid Jan, I have not sent anything to CIC yet....
My parents are running around in govt. offices to get their birth certificates.. however, if they don't get it, I plan to provide a notarized affidavit instead of birth certificates.
'meitsme' I suggest you do the same instead of arguing with CIC and trying to convince them...
RBO, can you provide me a format of what kind of affidavit did you make instead of birth certificates ?

I am also going to call CIC tomorrow (to double check) and ask the same question that you have asked, sometimes I don't trust these call center people, they tend to give different answers..

The CIC checklist #10 asks to provide self addressed mailing labels, one in English and one in official language of country of residence... Did you guys provide your address in Canada or the address of your parents in India ? Also, in which language did you write the address ?
Does the mailing label have to be like stickers or just a piece of paper with address printed on it?

Yesterday, I have asked my parent to get affidavit and notarized birth certificate. It is quick process in India. My father contacted to lawyer and they know about the format of the birth certificate. Physical presense in front of lawyer is required.

One more question. There is the spelling mistake in passport for Place of Birth. I have asked my parent to match same spelling in affidavit and notarized birth certificate. is it ok?

My father will scan and send to me through email. I will get it on Monday or Tuesday and then I will send to CIC asap.

Should I add any explanation letter on these documents?

I have no plan to include police clearance and landing fee at this time.

Any idea about how much could be delay in process and delay will be in approval from CIC or process in delhi?

How long police clearance is valid?
What about if Police Clearance will expired before completion of immigration process in Delhi?

I have plan to pay landing fee when CIC will ask for police clearance or medical.

Any comment?

whatever above said its true, I did same thing - i told my parents to see one of the notarized lawyer and make an affidavit stated that D.O.B. is and place in india in affidavit...

for JIGS787,

I don't have particular format for that b'cos it was made by lawyer itself...

PCC is valid for only six months, after six months CIC will ask for latest PPC.

I already got PCC within time limit so i send it with application, otherwise it is not necessary to send it at this time...

What i am understanding is as per CIC letter is clearly mentioned that if you don't pay fee now it will delay your file until everything go through.

CIC is going to clear the file first who already paid fee with application..

so its your decision do you want to pay now or later on..
