TK and alikes frustration is that they got wooed into fairytale stories and without doing due diligence they migrated to Canada only to find hardships. They are frustrated because they believe that they were fooled. More frustrating part is they fooled themselves and now trying to take out the frustration on Canada. Whoever sold them this bundle of lies that they will get job, govt will help to get the job etc, has some role to play. But ultimately it is individual's decision. Fortunately the economy in India is good and they are landing up with reasonably good jobs. If the economy was not that good, they would not have hesitated to write all bad things about India as well. These kind of people have the mentality of deliberately wasting food just because it is buffett.
Due to technology it has become very easy to get any information on your finger tips. One can make educated decision on migration with the expectations of struggle and rewards ahead.

Vivek:
Again, nothing personal, but your post reminded me of a joke.

Man 1 : What are you now

Man 2 : I am a millionaire

Man 1: WHat were you before

Man 2: I was a billionaire

End of quote

It all depends on perceptions my friend. A bird sticking its head into the sand will only see darkness.

All the best. Wish you good luck and success in Canada.

The already confused desi would do well to note the following.

1. That in case he finds Canada different, he can now itself be prepared to be riled that he had "fairytale ideas", "did not do due diligence" properly etc.

2. The all familiar "gate-people" anger that they are getting exposed and attack on the individual whistle blower, than write objectively about Canada.

3. Should we get entangled and personally suffer in this Canadagate. Already we are directly or indirectly affected by so many corruption happening in India like the Coalgate.

4. Positive thinking begins with assuming people having different viewpoints also to be individuals with common sense.

5. Should he take up immigration on the vague assurance that though things may be difficult initially, he will "SOMEHOW" find it easy after one year.

6. For that one year does the government provide a mentor to be with the new immigrant and guide him and ensure his settlement.

7. The government will not because it will invite the wrath of those who already are struggling there for years.

8. The confused desi should first know that the geographical climate of Canada is not just unfriendly, but deadly and dangerous that will cripple his movements.

9. That Canada only Monday to Friday. The whole of Monday and Friday, they will be in the week end mood and may not respond to your job search.

10. Like Vivek whether the Desi is prepared to sink in tens of thousands of dollars and wait? In rupee value it may touch a crore. That was why TK calls them "gullible". Canada needs a whole lot of them. Whether probably the richest and the biggest country in the world should do things differently, only experts can tell.

11. Saying the crow is black is common sense. If somebody else says that it is less white and claim it is positive thinking, let me not have it.

TK has been on this site for years with several incarnations. If the 20000 other posts trying reason with him have made no difference in the past, you can safely assume that the future ones won't as well.

Like they say, "Please don't feed the troll" and ruin perfectly legit discussions, especially when someone is looking for serious advice that may affect their life significantly.

I recently attended a Big Data conference where the keynote speaker presented his findings on extensive analysis he did on data from various comment boards and determined that one bad comment (with a clearly irrational and extreme viewpoint) has the ability to completely derail a civil/rational discussion. CD could be a case study for this.

Very well put, BL and Vivek.

It reminds me of an old man in our village in India. Every time he got mad, he would get up, walk to the sleeping dog in the courtyard and kick it. He would come back and lie down. He would repeat this every day in and out. If the dog was missing, he would go after the kitchen vessels. 

Canadian Desi is an outlet for some people to ‘kick the dog’ or get their frustrations out. It is more of an addiction they cannot peel away from. They feel good when they see other people cursing Canada or reading about their failed experiences here. It gives them a feeling of having made the right decision. what ever works for them, I guess.

R-man.

Anyways Rajagopal, I could say the same thing to you.
You donot have the Guts to move out of Canada and hence pretend that Canada is just fine for you.
Also Just now Ashdfc has written a mail to me. He has told me to convey that most CD's are thinking that India is still the India of the 90's. I have told him as to how you guys are just talking crap about him.
Will revert once I have more details.

Peace by Murali
