Very good post Vivek and very inspirational for many current and would be immigrants. In life one has to be brave to take risks and prosper and like you said India is always there to fall back on.
It takes a big heart and balls of steel to leave everything you hold dear and come and try to make it in a new place. Many have done it before us and many will do it after us, the key thing to remember is you can't achieve success without trying.
Good luck.
Good insight Vivek.
I always encourage gullible people from India to leave India. The job will go to another Indian and our employment number to the population residing in India will go up.
However would just like to tell you that India these days is not like what it was in 2003 or 2004. Rs 50,000 monthly salary and all is so casual in India. Also would like to state that if you got Rs 50,000 salary in India, you would be a b com accountant and you may not get any job in Canada or only around CAD 2000 a month.
All the best.

TK, don’t take me wrong. I have nothing personal against you. But I have always seen that you put negative things about Canada and for that matter even for India. Firstly I think no one in this world is concerned about the his /her country so much. People care about themselves and as I said everyone is different. I know it is not 2003-2004 and I know one of my friends with MBA who lost his job and had to take up a 45000 rs salary job just right now in India. So it is difficult to generalize, if people have to struggle they have to do it in India as well as Canada. But it is the matter of their own preference where they want to struggle. Life is never easy anywhere. So I would recommend checking the facts before coming up with statistics.
Also if a person in India can get a job only if a person from India moves abroad then for sure he will not get a job irrespective of what happens because the reason may be he doesn’t have the skills for the job. At a macro level, the immigration levels in India especially Immigration to developed countries will not cause such an impact that it starts creating employment in the country.
Also I know a guy who is BCOM who was hardly making anything in India but now he runs his own accounting firm in Canada and does good business. The salaries in India and Canada have no correlation. The key is taking calculated risks and have some luck favour you. Without taking risks, *****NO LUCK WILL EVER FAVOUR YOU****
Also as I told before one has to see how happy one is in India. Happiness is not just money; it is dependent on lot of factors which varies from Individual to Individual. So if one is happy in India no need to try anything, if one feels that he/she wants to try out something different then he /she can try based on his/her circumstances and take calculated risks and try it out and obviously have a risk mitigation strategy in place. I am sure people who are asking so much on whether to immigrate to Canada or not are not happy where they are. These people have to their own research and see whether they have skills, courage and plan in place instead of asking everyone whether to immigrate or not. Also it is not necessary to immigrate at one go, Canada is quite flexible and wants you to just stay 2/5 years. You can always do your landing, stay for few months and see how things work for you. If not return to India and lead your life at least you will never regret that you never tried.

Definition of insanity according to Einstein - "Doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result".
TK has been on this site for years with several incarnations. If the 20000 other posts trying reason with him have made no difference in the past, you can safely assume that the future ones won't as well.
Like they say, "Please don't feed the troll" and ruin perfectly legit discussions, especially when someone is looking for serious advice that may affect their life significantly.
I recently attended a Big Data conference where the keynote speaker presented his findings on extensive analysis he did on data from various comment boards and determined that one bad comment (with a clearly irrational and extreme viewpoint) has the ability to completely derail a civil/rational discussion. CD could be a case study for this.

1. An open mind and the desire to learn more - check
2. Ability to work hard - check (note that you can even work hard in a factory job for years, the next point should make it clear I am not referring to this).
3. A goal and a vision on how to get there - check
4. Ability to differentiate sensible advice (both positive and negative) from nonsense rants - trust me, this is key especially if you're looking for advice on online forums
5. A bit of luck always helps :-)
Based on everything you describe in your post, I would say you should immigrate. However think through it because you'll be giving up a sure thing (that you are likely not very happy with) for uncertainty that may or may not work out as you want it to. Also, the immigration policies regarding parents etc. keep getting tighter and tighter here, so if having your parents with you is a must, it might not work out that way.
Good luck!
Rightly pointed out 5 essential elements for success!!!
This apples everywhere in the world and to everybody .
