A reason 2 b confused - 2 option & what to take - (I say don't let go of the options that easy)('')
If you are determined take the challenge and make best out of any given situation, ready to take trouble of initial transitional period of 1 or 2 years, success surely will follow. In very rare case people go back to India to settle down there after spending couple of years in Canada. What I am trying say is once we get the taste of a foreign land and we get adjusted to the living conditions of developed country (in this case Canada), we find it hard from the moment we land in an airport in India. (Of course, you can make heavens anywhere in the world if you have so much money)
It is generally our tendency to focus on ‘negative’ stories while we let so many success stories of desis just pass by. Very existence of this forum and guys working behind it is an example of successful desis (thanks to GG, BL & all others).
Some are lucky to find well paid jobs as soon as they land in Canada but some are not (it is the same case in most of other countries and even with India when you try for a job – the same could be said about changing a job). Along with the qualifications, experience and ‘godfathers’, you really need some ‘luck’ to land up in a good job. In my opinion, ‘luck’ varies from person to person and you won’t know your ‘luck’ unless and until you try. Leave your options open, do not resign from your present job (in case you have to go back to India) But don’t let go of this OPPORTUNITY – we may very soon hear another success story from you on this very forum, who knows.
Above is my personal opinion.''
Wishing you good Luck in whatever decision you take. ('');

Mickey,
I understand that you are an IT guy, single.
This is the right time to make decision. Just see scenarios mentioned below :
GO TO Canada, If :
You are willing to struggle the initial phase.
Live in a civilized world
Maintain decent standard of living
Likes Western lifestyle
Doesn't belive in festivals or traditions
Willing to pay 35% tax
Will meet parents only once in 3 or 4 years
Doesn't have deep family connection back home
Dont mind missing freinds back home
Willing to do hands on job - at home or work
Can help - cooking/ cleaning/washing/ironing
Manage household without maid/servants
-20 deg temp is comfortable to you
Likes Golf, Ice hockey, Baseball or accept it
Children will start dating @ 14 or 15
Daughter may stay night out at 16
At 45 willing to work as an assistant to a 27 year old 'CANADIAN'
Doesn't dream of becoming a Rich Man in Canada
STAY IN INDIA IF :
You are doing a white collar job
Happy to be earning what you get now
If household works are done by servants/maids
Are highly qualified, like Ph.D or are a GM of a co.
Have a big family and have ancestoral properties
Likes traditional life, and are relegious
Don't like Western lifestyle / pop music
Don't laugh at Jim Carrey's non sense in movies
Don't discuss about TV serial FRIENDS
Believe in doing job that justifies your qualification
Want to be a Manager at 45+
Now its upto you to decide.

One should have to gorw up and think for the wider field. It's your age and chance for another opportunity. Don't ever think about for grabbing of these type of opportunities in the life. Go for it and best of luck.

Mickey, so what did you decide ? Let us also know of that decision... If you are coming here, maybe I can help ya with some hi-tech networking n stuff... Can you reciprocate that by giving me some contacts in Bangalore ? That will give me a headstart
Lookin' forward for ya response.
NOthing more to add, other than a couple of things :-
1.) Do not get disappointed if you are not able to find the kind of job you are presently working in India
2.) If possible, enhance your academic skills by a "Canadian Education". Also, enhance your French. That will give you a headstart in Govt. jobs ( and esp in Quebec)
3.) Benefits are quite good here (in spite of the high tax rate). At least its better than in India
I read somewhere in this forum abt taking a return ticket. If would strongly urge you to do that PLay your cards wisely, and be safe !
Cheerz !
& Good luck with ur decision

Hi,
If you are unmarried and in IT field then COME ON, Dont think too much.
See the different World here, big challanges are here but lot of good things too.
Risk factor : in worse case you have to go back India then there are lot of good jobs in India for IT people. so, in your case both side you have benifits.
Higher risk - Higher profits is business formula.
