May be you are getting confused between India and the prosaic, corrupt, full-of-valueless-dirty-politics and pseudosecular system prevailing in India. People don't hate India... If they hate, they won't be calling themselves Indians or Desi to start with. It is the current system there which has driven most of the folks to immigrate - to Canada or elsewhere.

After all, how long will we keep talking about one Rakesh Sharma and one Kishore Kumar? Why is it that a population of a billion cannot produce more?

Isn't it contradictory that Indians settling abroad is not acceptable, but it's a foreigner who is the most powerful person in India at the moment?

I would not go into the tit for tat arguments but generically speaking :

We have a 20 page thread on Sunita Williams - being an American and not an Indian ..... I wonder why Indians & Indo Canadians take pride in that .

Jis thali mein ..... dont the same comments apply on all Indo Immigrants when they left India for 'greener pastures ' ?

On a softer note ........ is it not true that all the Immigrants have taken an escapist route to Canada , escaping from the vagaries of Indian life (Bijli Paani Sadak ) ....

Is it not true that our culture WILL get compromised / converted in 2-3 generations ?

Is it not true that here on we are Canadians and not Indians ....... lets not try to be both for then we will be neither .

Alas this questions are being put to the people who have made their choice and would try their best to support it. But ask yourself - what did Sunita Williams do for India or what did those who came here do .... they just escaped .

I don't get thali from here as we are investor here.we are not here for better road condition and to change our passport.

we are present in almost all developed country, time to time we live there so we also live in india and proudly carry Indian passport till date.

I don't hate India and we haven't escaped from India to claim here refusee statuse .
