Main question for this discussion was that if some person ( who can get better job or business in India, like doctors,IT person,Engineers) shall go to India or not.Because at least those people can get better life as economy has gone up quite a bit and there is lots of beter things happening there.

when I cam here I was not making 10000Rs. working for as an engineers. But now I can get job with at elast 60000Rs. and so with that a person can live nice life as you have some money to buy decent place to live.

I came to know that there is a lots of dust, corruption, traffic, long waits for many things, busy line up on shopping mall etc.But , tell me how many times you will face all this.

Usually, in canada we goes to shopping during week end and we spent almost same time and wait for line at counter.Whereas In India, at least all grocery comes right at your door if you order through local "Kariyana Store" and fresh vegitables comes to your door dialy in morning.Or you go to near by shopping street, where you can buy all vegitables with "Lariwala".

Regaridng corruption, either find out some good connection or give some money and make contact. It will be very smotth in future. Because that system can not wiped out very easily. If you resit than you will sufer.

Poor healthcare- I am sure that Govt. hospital or some trust hospital are not good in terms of cleaning and service but after living few years I will not go that place if I have some other options. I visited last year to India. I show poly clinic where all facility under one roof and if u find some contact-network than you will not be punished with all detail test. Doctors also know that which type of patient they are dealing. If you discuss item with sufficient lnowledge they will not make you fool. Most of the doctors work for long ours and not only for money. Because they have alots of money at home. I think they are working because they have work and they can not see patient waiting for days. I read one lady mis carriage at calgary hsopital in lobby because she was not admitted in room as shortage of bed.Complete floor was with flowing with blood and poor lady and husban are watching helplessly. Here most of doctors are working just for money! They are not interested to put any extra hours than they want to.

Traffic- How mnay time you drive more than 30 Kms in a days.Very rare. Your work may be 8-10 kms in radius. I am not considering city like Delhi,Mumbai . I am talking some medium size city like Baroda,Indore,Pune etc.It will not that hard to drive that distance. Also, you can choose your home near your work place .

Childern life: In canada we have lots of park and play gorund. Every school has big palygournd and every other street we have slide and swings etc. Govt. is funding lot for this. But did you noticed that how much they are used?Usually, we Indians prefer that there shall be few kids if you go there. Most of time there is no kids when I go. So if you there u will try to paly for some time than will come back . There is also another reason that weather may not alow you to play.

Canada has very good indoor facility like YMCA if you can afofrd,. It is not that expensive but you have to spend $ for that.

I still admire many many things of Canada but if if person get some chance to go back for few years so that your kids which are grown (10 1-2 years old) now they learn little bit Indian culture, you can serve your aging parents and when kids are ready for univ. you can send them here or you can come back again. to take some retirment benefit. That way, you will give full freedom to your kids to choose their future also.

ever heard of this
'jis thali mein khana usse mein ched karna'
If u find urself such a 'misfit' here better go back to India!!!!!!

There is nothing like that. The world is very narrow now and a person shall think about which one is suitable at what time.

I am born in India and It is my mother land at the same time Canada gave me all good career and wealth so it is my work land. I am not sure what my kids will tell when they are of my age!

In short I am in opinion that we shall consider that whole world is one . Like "Dharti meri Mata". Gita tought us that.

At the same time you have to repect and love those who are good and you shall hate those who are not good. But hate shall not be that hard too. Keep in mind everything has their bad and good within it.

I feel proud when Indian kid can speak/read/write in hindi rather then participating on spelling bee, first teach them we have 2000 language spoken in India.

I feel proud for Sachin Tendulakar, Amitabh bachchan, Tata, ambani brother, kishor kumar, Lataji over the spelling bee guy.

I don't feel proud when you sing Canada's national anthem and claim you are making India proud gimme a break :D

May be you are getting confused between India and the prosaic, corrupt, full-of-valueless-dirty-politics and pseudosecular system prevailing in India. People don't hate India... If they hate, they won't be calling themselves Indians or Desi to start with. It is the current system there which has driven most of the folks to immigrate - to Canada or elsewhere.

After all, how long will we keep talking about one Rakesh Sharma and one Kishore Kumar? Why is it that a population of a billion cannot produce more?

Isn't it contradictory that Indians settling abroad is not acceptable, but it's a foreigner who is the most powerful person in India at the moment?

What you say is very true... and that is the problem also. You need the connection, contacts and money to get going. Many, like me, just don't like it. If I have extra bucks, I would rather donate to redcross or CRY rather than to a corrupt official.

btw, a 60K salary in India means at most 37K in hand after tax and other deductions. An apartment will take 15K of that... 2 kids in good schools will take 5-6K minimum... a decent 5-6 lakh car will take 10K in EMI. So you are left with 6-7K for all your groceries, entertaintment, cook/maid/driver, any long trips, medical expenses etc. How much will you budget for corruption? Any hospital visit - to good hospital - will get you a bill 2K and up including all medicines. If 2 kids and 2 parents are dependent on you, how often do you think you will need to pay hospital bills?

Innocent_heart my friend please save yourself from such bitter feelings towards other immigrants like you or else it will be very difficult for you to survive here.
We all love our country BUT we all chose to move out coz we were all convinced that future is brighter here! the pictureyou are trying to present for Canada Vs India is Black Vs White which is not justified ...the picture is always GREY !!! you know what i mean...
There is no Indian eye who didn't shed a tear for Martyrs of Kargil .
There is no Indian who didn't feel proud for the cheapest car Nano.
I feel extremely happy to see so many Indian kids participate and do well in 'Spelling Bee' competitions!
Didn't we feel good to see Sunita Williams go into space and she had hardly visited India in her life !!!
So my friend we can do good irrespective of our geographical locations and make our country proud!

Are you in Canada or India? If you are in Canada you obviously knew that the above mentioned things were not possible before you got here?

Ultimately, its a personal issue theres no right or wrong about it. It seems like you will be happier in India.

However, trying to convince others that they should see things like you do is probably asking for too much.

I sometimes visualize staying in an up scale suburban / urban area - having a chauffeured a/c car , a secured gated colony and shopping on weekends - this way I lead a comfortable life , enjoy all the Indian ness I miss here and stay away from the main streams as much as I can . You do not have to get a property transferred every day.

Dont tell me that the rich in India are not already leading this life .

Indian but a little less Indian than the 'mainstream'. A bit contradictory if you ask me.

BTW: those 'upscale suburban areas' have a higher rate of all the so called cons you listed (earlier sexual freedoms, underage drinking etc) about Canada in your earlier posts. Infact, many of them live a life that would put a teen here to shame.

However, the only way to find out if its worth it is to be there. We are all trying to create our perfect worlds. What life has in store maybe totally different.;) .
