Is that the aim of life to earn just money??

Doubt that they would be able to do that ..... lack of Canadian experience :D

Again making excuses for things that dont work is not the solution to the problem. Power generation was a priority in the first 15 years after India's independence ...... so you can see the growth at that time in our power production (we did not have the reasources then) , but it is a sorry state of affairs now. It is not that the govenment of India does not have the resources for this, they just spent 60,000 crores for farmers debt waivers!!!!!!! They actually just bought themselves an election!!!!!!!

Again i would say the first thing to acknowledge is that there is a problem. If you keep shying away from this basic fact, then there is no solution.

I dont think the culture there is superior to here or vice versa. I only know that i find it easier to live with some aspects of the culture here than there.

I'd have a tougher time explaining to my kids why a 4 yr old is begging outside my car window. I would have a tougher time explaining why some people have to live in slums and houses the size of my washroom. I have a tougher time explaining why some people have gated communities and some live under salvaged tin roofs.

Its not for me. Id rather face it once every few years when I go to India, than live there all the time than live away from the 'mainstream' in a gated community like Fido mentioned.

BTW: Living in gated communities makes any place a good place to live in. Even Darfur. Its no measure of what the 'mainstream' actually is.

**Id rather live in a country where the 'mainstream' enjoys a higher standard of living than a country where a privileged few try to live like how the 'mainstream' in Canada lives . BIG difference there. However, its still a personal choice.**

suppose on guy's mother is poor or even she was rich but got some accident and she has physical problem now what is the responsibility of that guy to leave that mother and find new one who has no problem at all.

similar way india is your mother, it's "Matrubhoomi" instead of finding new good mother why don't people take the responsibility and improve it.

You may have no problems with your teen daughters having pre marital sex but i do and I am sure I am not the only one ......... its a part of value system I have grown up with and intend to sustain.... not compromise ....... At least in India despite all the advents conservatism reigns in major proportions.

You seem to have this obsession with social forces acting against children and have this view that somehow children are insulated from this in India. As India is progressing so are the values and culture. Now whatever you might think of it but the values and culture have changed manyfolds in india in last 10-15 years. And as development goes, it will go on.
Someone mentioned watching TV as one of the problems, you ge the same channels in India also!!!!!!! If you watch disney channel in India, it has the same stuff .... look at the Indian teen programs .... there used to be one which was about teens and the problem they have .... boyfriends etc..... they were discussing it very openly ... though there was no mention of sex ... as you know we Indian's dont talk about it openly on tele .... but then it exists there . Your being an ostrich is not going to help. You know how many DPS cases have been there in Delhi after that case !!!!!!
You are right this is presently prevelany in the metros .... but then i am only considering life in metros .... are you going to raise your family in a rural area!!
It was Shahrukh Khan that sang " yeh tara woh tara ....." if you go to a rural area in India .... you will see " tare zammne per" ... sorry " tare din meh"

Are you equating working as a cabbie to being a prostitute ...... as far as i am concerned by no stretch of my imagination does it measure up to same. Being a cabbie is an honourable profession, though i never said that doctors should become drive cabs in Canada. I was just mentioning that the condition of dcotors is not all that rosy in India and that a cabbie would have a better life then them in some cases.

Will quote Mark Twain on this " Patriot: the person who can holler the loudest without knowing what he is hollering about"

If you are so concerned about India, then what are you doing in Canada?

Ok firstly, mother and mother land and your affinity to them is a personal issue. I dont tell you how your relationship to your mother should be and you dont tell me what mine should be.

You can keep drawing parallels from Ottawa to India being your mother. Similarly I can say If india is my mother Canada is like my wife and I've decided to live with my wife instead of my mother OR whatever sounds melodramatic enough to you.

All the borders are manmade and not god given. As such borders change with time and countries are born, grow, shrink etc. So you ere free to wax poetic about it but do not insist I see things like you do. India in its present form never existed until 60 yrs ago. According to me it is an idea like any other country is. You can choose to believe in an idea or you can choose another.

Please do not impose your melodrama on me. Its all rhetoric that does not mean a thing.

If you are talking cold facts about why some of us choose Canada then you may get some answers here. BUT if your idea is to judge us and impose your views on 'motherland' and some such, its not going to work. Especially when you are expousing it from Ottawa. Even if you were in India and working with the late baba amte, it would be your choice and you cannot impose it on us.

Is the concept of personal choice so difficult for you to understand? Or is it that you feel good only by proving how much better you are for not accepting Canadian citizenship? Whatever it is...hope you find happiness by the end of it.

If the Canadian govt is so great and everything work perfect here then why nothing happened to those who are "Air India blast" mastermind. why there is no action for all the terrorist organization who operates from here.

Every govt has some good or bad thing doesn't mean you keep changing your nationality.
