In every part of life here you land up paying almost double.
How if you get 100$ over rogers wireless bill for 25$ bill promised? that too for a little portion of a month.
cheating in Canadian corporate sector is terrible though it is done in full legal way where customer is trapped. YOu sign terms and conditions in different way but what you are promised is different.

It is fair?
<<snip snip>>
Simply by telling you that $25 product will cost you $50, does it become fair?

ofcourse its fair... if you think its unfair then dont buy the service... if you think oil being over $45 a barrel is unfair, then stop driving to work...

stop buying? what?
Why can't there be little honesty in corporate selling? I feel in anyselling in canada there are lots of hidden charges and there is no straight deal. Moreover prices of same products in Asia and here are 6 times more. But no one seems to mind paying more, just because one can affort shelling out everything what they earn whole month.
I immigrated to Canada during 2003, never had a problem with any of my utilities (I'm on Rogers Wireless, Cable, Internet). Have also found internet purchases to be really handy since I travel out of the country frequently and don't always have the time to search for products in a store. I've ordered products ranging from CD's thru music clubs to small appliances from Canadian Tire's online site.
For deliveries of products purchased on the net, I usually include my cell phone number with 'special delivery instructions'. Courier companies are courteous enough to call and one can arrange a pick up at a convenient point / pick up centre.
As far as "being charged double the package price" is concerned, read your contract and ask the customer service representative selling you the product to clearly spell out what your first bill will look like, and what your subsequent bills will look like. If you ask the right questions, you will get complete information.
Pretty surprised that so many people seem to have negative experiences with Rogers. I think highly of them, Bell Mobility sucks though.
PS: I don't work for Rogers.
