when you keep saying to immigrants in Canada:
'oh if you don't like it here then just leave'
that is quite ignorant and a completely wrong way of approaching the issue.
YES, I agree to a degree that if someone does not like it here in Canada, they are free to leave, . . . but my dear friend it's not that easy. It took me years to leave. (just 4 more days for me now)
Also, they were given immigration under false informaton.
Let me give you an example.
Suppose I invite you to my house. I say "DAS, come over to my big house, you will love it, I will feed you the best steak (or whatever else you like) dinner".
Then when you arrive, I tell you to sit on the floor and I serve you a plate of dog food.
Then when you complain, I say "well, Das, if you don't like it you can leave'
HUH??
What the hell was that?
Do you see what I am saying. It's not right to just tell someone who has spend tens of thousands of dollars of their hard earned money to come to Canada, to 'just leave'.
These foreigners came to Canada because the immigration lawyers and the Canadian embassies and the fancy Government of Canada websites duped, deceived and outright lied to them about the realities of Canada.
Try to understand.

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.
Canada feels that it needs lots and lots of immigrants.
Canada does not have any core competencies and strengths in any field. So this country needs more and more immigrants to increase their bench strength in labor market which would help in reducing the labor cost. This then would be there major strength.
By reducing the labor cost canada is thinking of competing with countries like India and China to get US investments in canada instead of india and china. The only advantage it has is, it is near to USA.
The trend is changing in immigration now. People from India and China are no more keen to relocate to western countries as the standard of living and opportunities are going high in these countries.
If you see immigration trend over last 50 years, initially japanese use to migrate to US a lot, then Taiwanese, then Koreans. But now do you see these people migrating. NO.
Now chinese immigrants have also reduced. The trend of reverse brain drain is happening.
Recent report by Pricewater house Coopers says that canadians have started realizing the benefits of outsourching.
In the coming decade about more than 1.5 lac IT jobs are expected to go out of canada with hardly IT job market of 4 lac expected to be generated in next decade.
This is because canada have to compete with highly skilled quality minded people of India. So the companies will be here but jobs will be outsourced to India.
IT is the only area where i saw people getting job in their field rest all do jobs not related to their fields.
Every body has started realizing the hidden cost of this country and the living standard is like hand to mouth. Thats all.................
So canada needs immigrants but immigrant not necessarily need canada

Canada needs immigrants for sure, but not all immigrants need Canada....I don't.
Nobody is holding you here; you have the right to leave anytime you wish.

Awesome post, well said. Canada is desperate. But we don't have to be. So many Canadians leave annually, that the population would actually decline, that is why they lie and deceive and dupe people into coming here and then push them into factories or pizza restaurants or taxi cabs.

I agree with you 100%. Guys like Das-FX can shove the bill of rights right up where the sun doesn't shine. Who the hell does he think he is? Giving us quotes from the bill of rights, when the government and canadian embassies and immigration attorneys all outright commit international fraud. Just selling immigration documents to make money!
Das-Fx, Crenshaw and the guy who runs this forum are all perfect examples of the ignorant, arrogant and very sad new generation of desi's living in this hell hole called Canada. I actually feel quite sorry for them.
