It all depends on how we look at the things. If I have enough money and a decent job, I would prefer India. Still life is hard. So what? There are a billion people. I spent half of my life in India.
In the end if one is content, happy, and devoid of all problems, they can live anywhere.

Hi All,
I am not a India Basher but sharing my experience. I visit India almost every year. I just landed 2 days back in Delhi. But to be honest, Air Poluution is Dangereous & there is a dust everywhere . Delhi is a Living Hell. Yesterday, trvaelled by Road from Delhi-Agra by so called Highway. Took us 8 hours to cover a royal distence of 200 kms. There is no traffic rule , i never see any traffic policeman for 200 kms. It is mess all over. North India is a total mess. Talked to few people as they are very happy they do not care about civic amenities as thier house prices are going up. They are happy.

Driller the thriller
Desi-Driller just explained it right. The answer lies in a very few questions
what one values?
what stage a person is in life?
What are a person's experience (hardships and luxury) in life?

Delhi-Agra in 8 hrs? It took us around 4 hrs. May be the traffic was bad that day when u drove. Just wait for the Taj Expressway, non stop to Agra.
Desi-Driller like me is waiting for the JP Yamuna Highway, once its done, pay toll (unlike SK) and life s a breeze (no snow boot/safety boots required)
My 4.5 Years of experience in Canada has brought the same thing in focus. It is lesser in smaller communities where I live and I have to admit I have been lucky to some extent. My experiences in Toronto and Montreal were horrific. Immigrants here ARE indeed brought in as cheap labor. People from \"third world\" are generally not given an opportunity to progress in their field of expertise and prior experience and education doesn't seem to count. This is especially true in case of Health care professionals who have to take low paying repetitive jobs in order to survive. The main reason for this in many cases is lack of Canadian university credentials. There is an attempt of systematic alienation of immigrants in the job market. Hence in big cities like Calgary and Toronto we see most white collar jobs going to what is perceived as \"Canadian\". There is systematic discrimination against Indians, Pakistanis, Arab, and to some extent even Eastern Europeans even in Educational institutions. There's hardly ever an Indian or a Pakistani Topper and admissions to post graduate programs / research opportunities where a lot of Indians can do well are not given to Indians.
The \"communication\" thing that was posted is all rubbish. Most Canadians who's first language is English are not able to communicate effectively in it and use slang terminology even in the official use of the language. Where as a lot of desi people are Multi Lingual. I have had friends from prestigious institutes like IIT , IIM , IISc, AIIMS echo the same sentiment.

I disagree to a great extent. There are so many non IT / Finance people from the cream of the society from the Gulf / India still unable to secure decent jobs. It is just a excuse that well settled Desi IT people use to justify other Desi Non IT people not getting jobs. This is a country where equality is only on paper and not on practice. The Govt. thinks one thing and the reality is other. They just spew crooked statistics to decive.
I have been here for 8 years and seen it all. At a junior position, I have seen many PM'ers who have been appointed to positions based on their country of birth and education (Mind you. I am not talking foul of Univ. graduates from Canada who have better skills than Desi's. I am talking of low level locals)
