You can't just look at the average, since it also includes people who live in slums & are very very poor. These are not the folks who come to Canada..and their numbers are huge in India.
Middle Class & Upper Middle Class & Rich people in India have a very good life expetancy.
The lower middle class & poor people in India due to poverty, mal utrition & unhygiene , die much sooner..they skew the life expectancy numbers in India. Not saying that their life is not important, but these are not the folks who come to Canada or USA.
If you compare the life expectancy of people like us & similar people in India, its pretty much the same.
You guys are living in an illusion. Life expectancy is increased many fold in the last decades or so. With the advent of world class health care, & health insurance, quality medical care has really changed the game in India.
On contrary Canada's health care is day by day getting in trouble. Geriatric care is the worst ever, visit any old age home & you will discover.

Let one go to a city like hyderabad, stay at least for few weeks and travel everyday in the city. The illusion on Pollution will be over. ( do not ask me if the travel is in an auto)
Also let one fell sick with some complications which requires different tests and hospitalization in those world class centres ..... the Illusion will be over soon when they see daily medical bills. That is what happened to one of my friend who moved India recently with family. He told me that one round of sickness for his wife costed him more than Rs.2,00,000 in a corporate hospital. Unless you really make a good money there, it is not easy for middle class to afford world class health care there.
One must have health insurance, to cover medical costs. Its a no brainer.

Let your friend come to Trivandrum, Kerala for treatment. Though it is a Capital, population is low, due to Gulf migration. Govt. hospitals are empty and they give good care for free.
If you are a hifi person, come to KIMS. World class hospital but dead cheap rates.
You can also try DM centre in COchin. Very big hospital but price is affordable.
