"Unfortunately, even after 60 years of independance, we cannot identify our country with one name , one language and one culture. Now let this country of sages , Aryavarta remain Bharat. Do not feel glorified by calling it by the symbol of slavery, India".
Very true.
There is still time for course correction, if only we can have a liking for all that is Indian and not selective.
There is also a need for people in certain regions not to look down upon people from certain other regions.
We should get rid of this "Magadha/Pataliputra" mentality. If at all there is a need for social and economic upliftment, now it is in Maghadha and Pataliputra regions. The region and people looked down upon have forged far ahead.
There was this dynasty Prime Minister who did not like his Foreign Secretary,a civil servant with great reputation. Just because the ICS did not give visas to his european in-laws to ride their SUVs in the sand dunes of Andamans (a protected region due to security reasons), he was asked to go and that too amidst a press conference. The ICS though shocked and sad, left the place like a gentleman.
Another place another time. This time it was the chief of the most dreaded extremist organisation again supposed to be from the region people from North do not like much. The Don was placed under house arrest in Delhi to make him sign a peace agreement on the dotted line. May be the Prime Minister was right in what he was doing. But the personal animosity developed was never doused. We all know what happened to the Prime Minister.

Mahila Jayawardane scored his 30th century and is 168 not out, Sri Lanka finishing the day at 289 for 8.
Coming in at 15 for 3 the captain guided his team to this respectable total.
This too is not Sachin's fault. He hardly ever knows that batsmen can play such innings. If India were 15 for 3, when viewers are expecting a big innings from him, he would queue up behind the bowler and get run out. No problem, there is a crazy fan following to accept whatever he dishes out.

In the England series 2 out of 4 tests were innings victories for the English and 3 out of 4 were innings victories for the Aussies. To bask under the glory of personal records, when the side has suffered such humiliation, what else can we say, but is sign of the times.
God of Cricket recent performance in England. 34/12, 16/56 (Bell159), 1/40 (Cook 294/Morgan104) &23/91 (Bell235/Peterson 175). The scores made by the opposition players which made the matches one sided are given in brackets. When the batsmen fire in all cylinders like a Shewag at his best and give a decent total to defend, the bowlers get the confidence and bowl better. It is NOT and shame on batsmen to say it the other way. At least, the side will have a chance of drawing the tests.
Then in Australia Sachin’s scores were 73/32, 41/80(Ponting 134, Clarke 329 & Hussey 150), 15/8 (Warner 180) & 25/13 (Ponting 221 & Clarke 210). Again the scores made by the opposition players which made the matches one sided are given in brackets. Again not once did Sachin play a matching innings to save the side.
After having failed miserably in all the big matches to give the side a drawing if not a winning position, came to Bangladesh and scored a 114 off 147 balls against the team on a belter of a pitch which eventually sealed India’s exit. His fanatic fans taking pride and ridiculing achievements of lesser known players who played to the best of their potential, tells definitely what champions are not made of.
