I just received my GCMS notes I found that my email address was incorrect ( not my fault ), who knows what I might have missed but as per GCMS I dont think process has started in ND.
I had to send IM5476 anyway, so I have faxed, emailed and mailed a hard copy so they update it.
For those who haven't received anything via email, it could be a simple reason that someone mistyped and causes us headaches
I received email from CIC stating
"We have received your application to sponsor..... dated June 10, 2008."
It gave me the UCI # and the Appln #.
The email did not state anything about the application being complete or is being fwd to any office. I dont understand this? Has anyone received this kind of email after submitting the docs as per the NOv 25, 2011 letter?
Appln - June 2008
Docs req - Nov 25, 2011
Docs sent - Feb 10, 2012
Docs req for certificate - May 10, 2012
Docs sent - May 12, 2012
email from CIC - jUNE 20, 2012.

email from CIC - jUNE 20, 2012.
My dad checked his email yesterday after a month (not so computer savvy), and to our shock we had an email from CIC where they asked to:
1. Provide them with the marriage certificate, and;
2. Go through medicals and provide them with the CIC.
However, the email is one month old (May 18th), and as per the same we need to provide them with the requested documents within 60 days. One month is already gone. Now, the issue is they are in Canada with us on a visitor visa and returning in the first week of September, 2012.
My question is whether can we contact CIC and request them to extend this document submission period request? Is it possible at all?
Also, they have already submitted the marriage proof in the form of affidavits. Now, one thing is not clear. If we need to provide the marriage certificate, why then the need of PCC and medicals?
Another thing I noticed. The email for marriage certificate request was sent 5 minutes before another email for PCC+medicals.
Can the CIC call centre clarify this with respect to our case?
Please help! It's a crisis that we are going through and afraid if we do not send the required docs within 60 days, the application might get refused.
Help please.
Febpreet, little unfortunate to check the email late. ...I am sure one of you must have filled the forms and must have indicated the email as a primary mode of communication that is why email was sent.
We did get the similar email and although we had sent affidavit in leau of marriage cert, they had sent the same emails to me also. (I had given my email address).
Now marriage cert and PCC & medical are differnt things..married does not mean that you do not need to go thru medical and do not need to have PCC. It is standard process and will need to follow for every legal immigrant .
Now the immediate requirement is to get medical done within 30 days of the receipt of the email. I think you should focus on getting that one first asap within Canada. Calling CIC or research on other forums would help.
I think you can request the PCC in indian embassy over here, call them up and ask if they can do that since parents are here. In fact this could be better than getting one in India unless you have "contacts/connections".

For marriage cert, do send the copy of the affidavit again and try to work with relatives in India and I am sure you will be able to register the marriage for your parents.
Try to get in touch with cic in the meanwhile start working on other stuff to fulfil requirement. If you get to talk to them, if I were you, I would not have asked the question about 5 mins gap in two separate emails...they might have checked the 2 missing items from checklist and must have click the send notification button over the period of 5 mins..
Good luck!
