How much Indian salary would make you return?
If you feel money is the issue here, I think you should be concerned with a lot of issues in life than just moving back home.
If you think Job-Career-Life-Family is the priority then....
Well, to quote an example, My cousin in US went back home after 8 yrs of NY/NJ life -Top notch salary. Reason - Quality of life and work. He is a software pro(so is his wife) and both feel that family/social life is much better in India than in US. They also feel their new born would get better education and experience while growing up in India. Salaries in India for Software pro's easily touch 1 to 1.5 lacs (PM's in a MNC etc..)
I have on the other hand have decided to stay here in Canada for another 3-4 years. Reason - Quality of life and work. I feel that my profession(I am a designer) still has to go leaps and bounds to catch up with the rest of world. Agreed a lot of new stuff is emerging back home (New money spending generation yada yada..) and it's better than most of cookie cutter stuff seen around here, but it's simlply not widespread enough. So for me another few years will give me the required gap-experience before i take the one-way flight back.
Finally, I feel that if you are accessing this Forum from a internet enabled computer that you own, You are probably lucky enough to have basic facilities/requirements of life in decent order. Beyond that Money should not be an issue. Quality of life, family and work should be. So Make up your mind and take your Pick asap.
Life is short and Luck favours the ones who are prepared. (stole this one from the incredibles, kya sahi movie hai i still can't stop watching it.)
Words of wisdom .

40k monthly will be enough motivation for me to go back.
Although I get more than double this amount here....still
Apne ghar mein bhi hai roti......

ya but sometimes its hard just to get the rotis
I was a project managet with Oracle India at Hyderabad. I was egtting around 80K a month in rupees. After tax i got 55K a month. In Canada i get 45K a year so after tax it is $3000 a month which is rs. 1 lakh a month.
At the end of the month, i save around $500 in Canada (rs.17,000) and i used to save rs.20K in India. So by all standard india seems better with the past salary that i got. But life in Canada is cool but some times you get depressed with no friends and relatives.
if given a chance , i would like to be in india with the same salary that i got before

Please refer the camel and arab story . We always need what we dont have. What we get in india are not available in Canada and the reverse is equally true.
