Rasoi & Restaurants: kOMALA'S
Started by: Desi Raja on 14 Mar 2006
Komala's a big disappointment: ...ch 15, 2006). I ordered Pav Bhaji, Chat Papdi & Sweet Lassi. The service was good, the restaurant was clean, but the food was mediocre at best. The main complaint I have is the quantity is too small and you leave hungry. I spent $13.00 and was still hungry, needless to say I will never visit again, when I can go to several local Indian restaurants; spend half the amount for food that is great. If they plan to survive and expand, they need to do two things 1) Increase your food quantity 2) Visit your pricing strategy Good Luck.

Visiting, Traveling and Picnicing: Travelling to India with infant and toddler ; any tips ?
Started by: Aashu on 14 Oct 2009
...Aashu, They give you baby food in flight but if your child is younger than 2 yrs then I'll suggest you carry your own food as the brand what your child is habitual may not be served in flight. Same goes for milk, I never took baby milk/food offered in flight. If toddler is 2 yrs plus the food should not be an issue, just carry some hand food (apple, biscuits etc.) and after security check buy water from airport. Its good you have in laws travelling with you. Best of Luck................Jona

Canadian Sakhi: Holi Potluck Party March 22/2008 for families.
Started by: SB on 21 Feb 2008
...yet. Just reserve it for now ..for Saturday March 22nd, but also know there could be a change of plans later on. Regarding what Holi is all about, if someone can volunteer a story on why we celebrate holi, that would be great. Any ideas are also welcomed as to how to keep the kids entertained, while adults chat and enjoy the food. Regarding colors, only dry colors in form of Tilaks and Tikkas must be preferred unless you all want to go home covered in color from top to bottom. And about take-out food, I would say that if anyone doesn't want to cook, they can bring take-out food, but whether or not we should cater it and share costs will depend on all participants. ...

The link was related to parceling of the Indian foodstuff like Pickles, Sweets, etc. And actually, I got some food stuff delivered here in Toronto, Canada. I have been living in Canada from the past one year. The food was really good and cheap enough that I decided to share it with the friends here in this forum.

...sh, You are forgotting one important fact - Mississauga is only 600,000 where as rest of GTA is almost 4,500,000 ! How can a such a small city offer more jobs than Rest of Toronto? It could offer jobs in certain fields, for example pharma, but not necessarily in all fields. I have seen people communiting from Scarborough to Mississauga. Infact I did it with my first job for 4 months, one way 60 Kms! Does it mean that most of jobs are in Mississauga? Now I have job in Vaughan and at my work almost 30 percent people are commuting from Mississauga! So, it is not certain where you will get a job, and when it is uncertain one has to choose a location with easier transportation ...

BTW, usually all indian restaurants are doing fine. This is my perception. I noticed couple of them closed down in recent years don't know the reason.
